The package was opened and rice was rancid even though there was a zip tie on it. I'm pretty dissapointed because one it is expensive and two Sam's Club has been a place where I have not had a bad experience shopping at yet.

We have been enjoying this brand of rice for long , until recently news of stopping rice from India freaking us . Hope Sam’s find an alternate source than India.

I opened the bag of rice a week after its purchase to find green and black clumps of rice inside. The clumps were sticky, and the color was quite unnatural. I don't think it's mold, although it certainly looks like it. I've never had issues buying this particular brand of rice before; in fact, it's one of my favorites. However, Walmart did provide me with a refund for the item.

My dad has type 2 diabetes. As he doesn't like brown rice or whole grain, we decided to give basmati rice a try. It has lower GI value. We have noticed his blood sugar level becomes lower since we switched from regular white rice to basmati. The only drawback is the taste. It's not bad, just not as fragrant as, say, Thai Jasmin varieties.

We love this rice. Tastes and smells great as expected, cooked in a cheap little rice cooker. I split it up into 5 lbs bags and vacuum seal them. It takes us almost a year to use it all up, but I hate paying a fortune for small bags at the supermarket.

Packaging had no issues as usual, but always check the packaging of every bag if you're buying in bulk. The inner packaging sometimes breaks during shipping/ delivery, and it's hard to notice because of the outer bag (red). One of the best basmati for Biriyani

I have found Royal Basmati Rice bag is the best Basmati Rice available in American market. I tried few other brands but nothing taste so good like Royal basmati. There’s no other basmati rice that come close to its quality. I never change my rice brand unless it is not available. It made me sad few times when I could not find this brand’s rice.

but when I do ... For a serving of rice - plain or with saffron, turmeric, etc - I select Basmati. For filler in casseroles, meatloaf, etc I still use plain ole long grain white. This is my second 20lb bag of RBM. Walmart's price much better than I paid last time at you-know-where.

I love this basmati rice. I've ordered before and had no problem until this last order. This rice has a wonderful aroma even before cooking and this last bag had the safety tie already cut and the plastic bag inside the burlap bag had already been open. So I'm left to wonder who's had their dirty hands in my rice or if someone done something to the rice or if I received basmati royal rice at all, if some otger rice wasn'tput in this bag. Because the only smell it had was of burlap, chemical, no basmati smell at all. So did walmart send me a returned bag of rice? This is unacceptable and the rice will be returned. This is really great rice if you can get it unopened and the right rice so you don't have to worry if it's been tampered with.
