Opening this bag a rice was wonderful. The fragrance re-inforced the label on the bag stating it was from a new harvest. Rice has a long shelf life if kept in a dry and pest free environment. The rice came in a plastic bag inside a very cute burlap sack which had a zipper and handles. I will definitely re-purpose the bag!

We’ve enjoyed this “Royal” brand of Basmati rice for many years. It’s still the high quality it has always been, and arriving in the burlap bag make it feel so authentic! In recent years, the recipe on the label has changed and now says 1 cup rice to 2 cups of water. We still get best results using 1 cup of rice to 1.5 cups of water.

I looked long and hard and Walmart has the best price for Royal Basmati rice. I love to use this rice alone (tastes like popcorn) and in Indian dishes and with chicken and fish. Also, I stuff Cornish game hens; wonderful. Would buy again and again.

I've actually not used any of this rice, because, I have a lot of other rice still. I purchased it because I was assured it is the best sort of rice for people who want to lose weight and have a lot of mucus to deal with. I have eaten basmati rice before and so I believe that it is helpful to me, due to experience. No idea if this particular brand is better or worse than any other, but, I did get it a couple of bucks cheaper than Sam's Club sold it for, and, that means WAY cheaper than at the cheap Indian food market I can sometimes get to. Plus, I like the bag it came in.

This is basmati rice of acceptable quality, great for microwave rather instant rice, microwave instructions available on tag, really great rice if you get the lim of how to make it either on oven or by microwave ( 1 cup uncooked rice cooks in total of like 16 minutes to a fluff great rice. You can mix with things like sweet peas ( frozen ) , dill, spinach , cilantro ( fresh chopped ) , parsley ( fresh chopped ) and many other greens for varity of rices again through microwave ( a few minutes more, stir every couple of minutes) . At areall great price ( 17.xx ) which hopefully wil get even cheaper.

Bugs once I opened, The top of the cheap thin plastic bag that holds the rice had a little hole in it, some rice was out, in the burlap part, but saw some kind of bug in there. Dead but didn't look further. very small. Probably weevils. Not worth $20 to get bugs in your home!

I was worried about the packing when I order 2 bags of 20lbs rice. but they packed separately which is great. The first time when I order from amazon both 20labs packed in one back and the box was all ripped and torn out, not that I care about the box but just don't want to have damaged products. this is been great we love rice and the service.

The rating is for Sams packing and shipping. The rice itself is very good and usually arrives packed with non-fragrant bubble wrap. This time, someone packed the rice with trash from the warehouse. This trash with strong chemical smell ruined the food item. Please train the persons working in the shipping area. I don't believe that this is the new "green" policy of recycling of waste packaging for shipping instead of using the usual packing materials like bubble wraps. I have to spend extra time and money to order from the local club.

Been purchasing this product for years but initially from Sam's Food Club. When the Sam's Clubs were closed in Milwaukee, I thought I would be out of this item. But...lucky for us, it is on walmart.com. Yeah! Love this rice. We boil for 11 minutes and drain. Optionally add butter and salt or any kind of veggies. It is light and very tasty. Easy to re-heat without compromising quality or flavor.

I was hoping that this would be the product of old. NOT! Real Basmati has a distinctive flavor…this might as well have been Uncle Bens. No Basmati flavor at all. Oh, it wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t Basmati! Regardless of what the packaging said the source was. Don’t know what they do to it but Basmati and Thai Jasmine have none of the flavor that they used to. For the price, this was a waste of money!
