I bought 2 of these circa Dec 2020, One of them is going strong, the other died within 5 months. Tried to warranty this with APC, and because I had a PS4 plugged into the surge protector side, they blamed it saying it was too many watts, and left the support chat 30 seconds later while I was typing a response. Apparently APC doesn't stand by their equipment warranty if normal voltages pass through the surge protector side.

All battery backups typically use nickel cadmium batteries as their power source where their lifespan is around 3 to 5 years. Then the battery fails and you have a choice of replacing the battery, which is 65% of the total product replacement expense, or replacing the battery backup unit. Someday a reasonably priced lithium ion battery backup will be available.

These APC UPS units failed. We bought 5 of these units to protect our network and home theater equipment. We had a power failure that sent a surge to the house that destroyed some of our equipment that was supposed to be protected by these units. We had to replace our modem, Tablo OTA DVR, and a 16 port ethernet switch (nearly $500 worth of damage). The only thing that worked with these units is the battery back-up, which kept the TV, clock and lamp that was plugged into on. These units were supposed to be surge protected. We had to return all 5 units back to Sam's Club. I am very disappointed in this product, and would not buy again nor recommend this product.

The arrangement of the plugs makes it virtually impossible to utilize every plug due to alignment being too close and tight to accommodate various size plugs. Otherwise, the unit seems to function adequately for support in events of power outage...which I've already experienced since purchase one month ago.

Love this device .It protects my units in my dorm when there are low voltages .

I like the fact that the battery is smaller than many and it is working well.
