I was using a Tidy Cats product and did not think it would matter if I tried the Light Weight (my other brand was out of stock) As the other reviewers, the cat liter is not ALL OVER the house. It does control oder very well and clumps and scoops very well, but the mess is not worth it!

I purchased this because living on the second floor and carrying cat litter was hard on my knees. I tried this thinking it was going to be the best, but boy was I wrong. I have dust all over my house and my poor cat has it in her nose, not to mention that it gets stuck in her fur and paws making an even bigger mess. I am very disappointed that more testing was not done on this product before it was put on the market. I guess they hoped that the lightweight perk would pull people in and unfortunately, I feel as if I was suckered into buying a product that makes a bigger mess than what it is worth.

It gives my poor kitty allergies from the dust and I have an issue when cleaning the box that it stuck to the bottom of his litter pan. I noticed that when i scoop a lot of the darker urine-soaked pellets of litter stay in the box and keep the odor there.

It has a,fresh scent that doesn't mask the smell yet seems to eliminate the odor all together! I am very pleased with the scooping ease as well!

I tried this for two months and it is terrible! Here is the deal. I purchased this because may daughter is responsible for her cats and the other litter is fairly heavy. The cat box is in the garage and we started noticing the ammonia smell after a week. The cat box was thoroughly scooped and the smell never stopped. We thought that one of the cats was doing his business elsewhere in the garage, but after scooping the litter box, I noticed the ammonia smell was unbearable from the box itself. I use Tidy Cat all the time, and this is the first unpleasant experience I have had with it. Basically, you cannot scoop this litter because it absorbs the urine and does not clump together. So, you get a lightweight litter, but you have to change all of the litter at once which is a very expensive way to go.

Ive been using this litter for a couple months now. What I like about it: How easy it is to scoop, how well it masks odors, the clumps don't stick to the box, how easy it is to get from shelf-cart-car-house. What I hate about it: LITTER EVERYWHERE. It's so lightweight that it seems to jump out of the box. I'm constantly vacuuming. The part I hate the most is that it gets stuck to my Persians paws. In her fur, in between her pads, EVERYWHERE. Bad enough that I cant even pull it out of her fur, I have to run water over it to get it out. Not so sure I'll buying it again. Sorry!

Top reason is my ability to carry it upstairs with ease. It's also easy to clean with a litter rake. I'll never go back to the heavier litters. It is a dust creator, though and our cats track it through the house....these may be refinements to work toward. As of now, we are all very satisfied.

I tried the Tidy cat light weight about a month ago. I won't lie I was a little skeptical at first. How can this be so light to carry but also give me the amount I need? I am very happy to say that this is amazing. I do not have problems with dust, it IS lightweight as it says and it still locks down odor.

When I first adopted my kitten 3 1/2 years ago I knew I wanted to use a lightweight type litter for a few reasons. I tried one non-Tidy Cats brand that was supposed to be unscented. The litter itself smelled terrible and worse when soiled. I switched to Tidy Cats (one of the other types) with a scent that didn't suit me. Then I switched to 24/7 Performance and have never looked back. It helps to have a large enough litter box as well, my cat is 10 pounds+. She has NEVER soiled anywhere but in her litter box. And, sometimes it doesn't get cleaned for a couple of days with NO odors...at all. This is the only litter I will ever use. I hope they never try to improve it. That's when things go "wonky". :)
