I see a lot of negative reviews, but I like this litter and don't plan on buying anything else from here on. Not only is it light when lifting and carrying but it is real light when you scoop it, so it makes the scoop just glide through it. That is hard to explain but it is a different texture. I don't know about odor control because I keep my boxes scooped out at least 2x a day with a window open in the cat room, so I don't really have an odor issue. It is dusty when you pour it, but I have yet to find a litter that isn't. I don't notice any more tracking than usual. I keep big litter mats all around the boxes (I have 3 cats) and that seems to contain it well enough. The reason I did not give 5 stars is because it is expensive. I am willing to pay more for the convenience of being able to carry it easily (and it makes it so much easier to take the old used litter to the trash when you dump the box and wash it out) but if someone comes up with the same formula at a lower price, I will try it.

I purchased this new Purina Tidy Cats Lightweight Cat Litter Club Box at Sams Club for the second month to give it its due trial period with my cats. The Cat Litter performs amazingly and keeps the smell to a bare minimum. Usually its because of my lazy cat that likes to bury nothing and leave his mess exposed. But we love our cats for their individual personalities. I wouldnt take him any other way. As you can see my animals are like family to me. So something I feel is unhealthy for myself to be inhaling; I wouldnt want the same for my cats. The downside to this new lightweight formula is the dust that gets put into the air when sifting through it. I must be sifting through the liter like a mad man. Good idea, but not correct. I even purchased a extra large pan cat litter sifter to allow me to slowly sift through a larger surface area while allowing the cat litter to pass through the grates without actually falling back down to the cat litter pan. Even using extreme precaution not to create dust I found myself sneezing and gasping for air. My bathroom which I dedicated the spare shower for the litter box is covered in cat litter dust, along with anything in my bedroom near the bathroom door. I will be going back to the cat litter purchased at winne dixie in the plastic yellow pale with either red or torqouise half-flip-open lids. Those pales also work as awesome buckets for anything you can think of. I even used the empty cat liter containers for paint gun cleaning pales filled with paint gun cleaner acetone/alcohol/toletene mix and used oil/coolant storage. Its almost like they designed that pale for customers to utilize afterwards, even for cat litter disposal.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I picked up Tidy Cats Lightweight and was a little skeptical at first, not sure if it would do the same as my regular Tidy Cats cat litter. With Two boxes set up side, I poured the Tidy Cats regular in one and the Tidy Cats Lightweight in the other. First, I like the smell of the Lightweight. And obviously, so does my cat as she quickly checked out both options and has chosen the Tidy Cats Lightweight as her preferred litter. This speaks volumes and going forward, it will be my choice for litter for my feline friend. Thank you Tidy Cats Lightweight!

However I believe now that we are going to stick with tidy cats lightweight it is so much easier to get in and out of the cart and it does the exact job as most of the expensive brands that we have bought in the past.

I love the idea of a lighterweight litter as I am an urban dweller, but the smell of the litter is way too overpowering for my cat. She started using my bath mats and throw rugs for the first time in her 4 years and I was worried there was something wrong. I have an enclosed domed shape litter box and when I went to clean it I was overpowered by the smell. Once I stopped using the Tidy Cat, she started using the box again.

There are a many cat litters that claim they are dust free and again this litter certainly did not live up to its name for being dust free...I paid extra hoping it was... except for being light weight it is no different than any other litter. The light weight is the only advantage to this litter.

This product is a terrible conception. Maybe a good idea at the time, but in the end, it literally "stinks to high heaven"! We bought the huge club size at Sams Club, because the lady pushing was all cute and made up like a cat. She raved about how wonderful it was, mainly because of the Light Weight. Well to make up for the lightness, apparently the creators must have not tested this product at all! We have two elderly cats who are very tidy and don't really fling the litter everywhere, plus they also always use the box. Long story short, we left a clean and properly filled, extra big box for them on a Friday. We went out of town and returned on Sunday. When we walked in the back door, the smell just about knocked us down. It smelled like they had peed and pooped all over the house! And litter was all over the laundry room. Our house literally smelled like something you'd expect from a "cat lady" house. We were tired and did not throw it out right away. Later that night I woke up and thought I was going to be sick. My husband got up and dumped the box. He then tried to wash out what was left in the bottom, he had to use the shovel and scrape out what he said was "wallpaper paste". We had a container of Tidy Cats for Multiple Cats in the RV and switched back to it. No odor. We are going to just use the remainder, which is a LOT for ashtray cans we use while camping. This product needs to be pulled and redone, or you won't be selling very much at all.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Tidy Cats lightweight is awesome to get rid of ammonia smell from the litter box and it's super easy to transport into cart, into car and into house. Even just trying to pour it in litter box is easier

I was thrilled with the first jug of Light Weight Tidy Cat. No more stepping on hard little pieces of litter that get dragged from the litter box. Then I began to notice my poor cat smelled like a dusty old mop! After the second jug, the area where his litter box is kept was so dusty that I immediately went out and purchase the old standby Tidy Cat. I really wanted to like this product.

I wanted a lighter weight litter and the Light Weight is really great, but I notice the odor much more than I did with other heavier litter. I also feel that the litter gets on the floor easier. For one thing the cats seem to toss it out of the box since it is so light. I was surprised that other people think that it's great for odor. I doubt that I got a bad container of litter.
