I don't care for the scent as much as the Tidy Cat Small Spaces, which is what we have been using for the past 11 years, but it's no where near as strong as some of the other Tidy Cat litters. My biggest two concerns were 1) obviously whether or not worked as well as the TC Small Spaces (odor control, clumping strength, etc) and 2) being so light how bad does it track all over the house. Surprisingly enough, it works just as well as I have always expect from Tidy Cat, and tracks no worse than any of the other varieties, and in fact may actually track a little less in spite of the fact my male cat likes to launch himself out of the litter box at warp speeds. Odor control is fabulous, even with three cats, and the clumps stay together just like you want them to. I have two large litter boxes (one of which is in the living room) and scoop each box once a day in the morning. Even immediately after one of the cats has used the little box there is no odor just as with the TC Small Spaces. All in all, I'd say this is one of the best cat litters I have ever used.

I was so hopeful about this new litter, it really is so much lighter.  I emptied and washed the litter box and refilled it with the new lightweight litter.  The first thing I noticed was that it is very dusty, had a different texture to it and is very "perfume-y".  My cat would not even get into the litter box!  I kept thinking that when he had to go badly enough he would use it, but no such luck.  After 2 days I went back to the store and purchased the regular Tidycat I had been using.  He used the litter box right away.  I guess it was the heavy perfume smell that kept him away.  If they make an unscented version of the lightweight litter I might try it again, although I do have concerns that the "feel" of it is different and might pose another problem.  Please don't stop making the regular Tidycat in favor of this stuff!

Yes it's too expensive, but with 3 cats I find it irreplaceable. It is the most odor absorbent litter I've ever used. It's clumping ability stays for the whole 2 weeks until I fully replace the litter. I'm a twice a day scooper and the litter travels on their paws because its so fine, but the litter sticky pad takes care of that mostly. I tend to go through 3 of these a month so when they are on sale I stock up, so I'm not paying $18ea for it when it's Super Bowl or the holidays (when every retailer jacks up the price of cat litter and toilet paper!) The most important thing is that the cats are happy with it. I couldn't keep them if they each primadonna'd out and needed a different litter, so I'm glad this gold dirt works for them all.

This litter is awful! The litter is light and easy to carry, that?s as good as it gets. The cats track it all over the house, and I mean EVERYWHERE! I can?t imagine why anyone would would want to use this litter, unless they like it all over the house. Also, I feel like I went through it twice as fast as the regular weight stuff.

I have been using Tidy Cat cat litter for a decade now,I really wanted to like this new light weight formulation,but after trying several containers of it I had to give it up it is so heavily scented that it is intolerable to have in the house,also I found it does a very poor job of controlling the ammonia smell of cat urine compared to the original Tidy Cat

Extremely useful to have the lighter formula for people with arthritis and neuropathy it makes it less painful to carry and easier to pour. Plus the odor control is much better. But unfortunately I lost my last cat back in January, so I have no need for liter anymore. I wanted to give this review due to I highly recommend this formula.

I bought this because I live on the 2nd floor and  it is a pain to carry those large litters up. I have 6 cats so I have to buy a lot of litter. Pros: Clumps really well. Much easier to clean the box. Very light so easy to carry up the stairs. Cons: The scent of the litter is WAY too over powering! Please make an unscented version! Also regarding the scent, I have one cat that does NOT use scented litter, so i have to use the old litter for her. Dust! WAY too dusty. Most dusty litter EVER Because the litter is so light, the cats track it all over the place. Have to use the Roumba more often.

I LOVE that it’s light weight it makes it easier to put in your cart, in your car, in the house, and pouring it into the litter box. Much better.

We started useing this product about a month ago, we have 3 cats we love it dont understand some reviews but Im glad it works for us.. NO-MORE WET MUSH on the bottom of the pans ,clumps dont break up. controls the order the same has others but for us the main factor is dust ..dont seem to find it all over the furniture.which is a plus and less dust for the kitties also..I will keep using this till something else that is better comes alone..

After years of constantly having to clean dust off of everything in the litter area, I found Tidy Cats, 24/7 LightWeight! No more strained muscles lugging this stuff around, a snap to scoop out daily and the price is right! I worried for a long time that a 'lightweight' product could actually perform as well as the "old type"- -but it truly does! The cats have no problems in using it, so everybody is happy! I wish I had purchased it sooner but I'll never go back to the "old stuff"!!!!
