[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like the fact that Tidy Cats Lightweight litter is much easier to purchase and use than other brands because it is not as heavy. It makes it much easier when my wife has to purchase it or help to change out the litter box. The cats don't track this throughout the house and it helps to control the odors much better than our previous brand did.

I use more kitty litter than the average home. I have 5 cats, 3 of which are 20 lbs each. Their litter boxes are very large. So, I am very happy with the lightweight formula. With the regular, I felt like I was going to break my back lugging it from the car, then cleaning the boxes was even worse. It would be so heavy and sticky. I don't have that problem with this litter. I only wish it could come in a type of vacuum seal pouch or something other than the plastic containers. I have so many to get rid of. The recycling in this area is not often enough, so the bulky containers tend to add up. But, overall I do like this litter.

I have been using the small spaces litter for my (one) cat, and decided to try this since it's lighter (I live in a high rise). I was very disappointed though and had to leave this review. This is the most dusty litter I have ever come across! I have mild asthma and could not breathe just scooping the box - never mind refilling it!! Plus another huge negative - it gets tracked SO much more than the regular one! It also sticks to my cat's fur and paws when completely dry for further tracking. I have to sweep/vacuum multiple times a day instead of once. Clumping for urine works much better (doesn't stick to box as much - huge plus) but it's probably from the film of dust! And I don't know what people are referring to about good odor control - clean box smells after one use. I do not recommend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received a coupon to test and review Tidy Cats Lightweight from PINCHme. We have always used Tidy Cats in our home with our three cats but this is the first time we used the lightweight formula. Our cats had no aversion to this liter (they have to others so this is always a concern when testing a new liter) and I like that it was easy to clean and didn’t smell horrible. With three cats we go through a lot of liter and the lightweight formula is nice when I am buying and refilling the liter since I’m not nearly as strong as my husband.

Love this litter! When I first got my Maine Coon I used some of the other Tidy Cats litters (Powerblend, 24/7 Performance, Instant Action etc), but ultimately wasn't that impressed with them and switched to Fresh Step instead- The Fresh Step clumped a lot stronger, tracked less, and smelled better, in my opinion. However, I always hated that it came in 25 lb boxes that were pretty unwieldly to carry if I had other shopping to do. And with such a big cat, we were buying litter pretty frequently. So, when I saw the Tidy Cats LightWeight commercials, I wanted to give Tidy Cats another chance, and am thrilled that not only is it super light weight as advertised, it clumps great and has very little dust (not sure why other reviewers have said it's dusty). The only little negatives are that it does track a bit more than my old Fresh Step, and it's a little more pricey. But it's great to be able to easily carry and transport two or three of these containers at a time, and I really do think it's the best clumping out of all the Tidy Cats litters. Some of the others were very muddy clumpers, which made the litterbox hard to clean and smelly. This works great, though!

I have been using tidy cats for months now. This is the only litter I have been able to use and not have my house smell like I have a cat. I also have a small dog who has taken over our second litter box and will only use tidy cat litter! He actually taught himself to use the litter box at night!

I got my first cat six months ago. The first time I bought litter, I mindlessly grabbed a box of whatever was on sale. It was horrible! It had a very strong perfume-y scent of it's own and mixed with the scent of kitty poo, it was awful! I soon learned that not all litter is created equal. Tidy Cats is now my #1 choice, no more mindlessly grabbing kitty litter!!!

We have 3 cats and 3 boxes.  We put this lightweight in one box.  Here's the breakdown of our test drive.  Pros:  light weight (of course), need less and it goes a long way!  Clumps REALLY well!! We used only 2 - 8.5 containers instead of one full 35 pd container! Cons: THE DUST gets EVERY WHERE!! It is also so light weight that the cats track it more.  The most over-powering SCENT EVER!  It's enough to gag you!  It does subside somewhat but not enough! I LOVE the idea of it!!  It needs some more work, however!  I'm not sure you can make it light weight and not have it track out.  I can live with that.  Work on the dust and the scent and I'll be back!!  I have a pic of the dust but apparently cannot upload.  I'll add this review to Amazon (if product is there).  

I have used the light weight Tidy Cat litter and it is very much lighter to use, has the clumping feature of the heavy weight litter. However the dust from this light weight is very obvious. When cleaning the cat box the dust goes well beyond the litter box. And - what will the affect of the dust have upon our cats when they breath it in?? We will need to clean our floors more often due to the dust. Yes cats will track litter beyond the box but our cats seem to track more of this litter than the heavier weight litter. I am seriously considering either going back to the "regular" Tidy Cat litter or another brand. I applaud Purina for the attempt to improve Tidy Cat litter but recommend they go back to the testing tables.

I bought this a week ago and I have dumped it twice. It sticks to my cats feet and it drags it everywhere on the couch on the floor on the bed all the way across the house, I even have two rugs in front of the box. It clumps alright, it sticks to the bottom of cat box and I have had to scrape it out and than wash the box, YUK! It does not control odor either. I hate this stuff I will NEVER buy it again.......
