At 81 yrs. young, the heavy litter was much to heavy to carry up the stairs and into the house...never mind trying to lift and pour! This is a terrific product for the "not so strong" owners of a cat. Our old lady cat "Miss Marmalade" loves it too...no trail of little when she leaves the cat box......good job Tidy Cat!

On the plus side,I love how lightweight this is--makes shopping for it much less of a chore.  This stuff also clumps wonderfully and the clumps do not fall apart when you scoop.  However, it is horribly DUSTY!  So much so that I had to wear a dust mask while cleaning the box.  Also, I normally like scented litter, but this stuff is over the top.  The scent is too strong, and unfortunately it does not do a great job of masking or controlling kitty smells.  It just smells like kitty bathroom smells mixed with too strong perfume

Tentative kitties at first! It took my 3 kitties several days to decide whether they liked the litter or not. They do, the scoops definitely hold together much better. One down side was they did NOT like the smell. I didn't like the perfume either as I have 2 breathing problems which makes this a REAL problem for me. Still dusty; not sure how a litter could not be, but it would be nice. Except for those 2 things, we liked it!

I have 8 cats and 6 litter boxes the dust was really getting to the point I used a dust mask when I clean the boxes out and I clean my boxes out twice a day when I get in from work and in the morning before I leave for work . I really see a major difference now I don't even use a mask anymore I love it !

I really like using this litter because, while I did once use a cheaper litter because I thought I would save some money, when I go to change it out, it's super light no matter how much activity has gone on in there. LOL! To me, it's totally worth it.

This litter doesn't clump as well as the old, heavier type. Additionally, my 17 yr old cat leaves the box tracking this stuff all over the place and it gets clumped in her hind paws! What a mess, and she ends up cleaning that with her tongue? Gross. Is that even healthy? This stuff is nothing but awful.

When I started using Tidy Cats Lightweight, it claimed 99.9% dust free, and it did seem to be. Now, they no longer make any claims other than "low dust" and I can see the litter dust building up everywhere and getting tracked around. Looking for an alternative litter again.

We switched slowly adding it to the old scoop litter a little at a time. After about a week our cat started crying and pacing a lot. I must say here that she is very vocal all the time so extra meowing isn't unusual. The difference was that the meows turned to howling while she paced. We already hated that we had litter every where in the house with this product. Finally, I saw her in action when she needed to go. Jumping in and out of the box just howling, pacing back and forth, until she had to just go. Feel so bad we put her through this. She also developed an eye irritation during this time we now connect to the light weight litter dust.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I enjoyed that the litter was light enough to carry easily, and had the ability to reseal. It makes litter top ups way smoother than with bucket or box litters. It performed extremely well with 2 cats, one of which might as well be counted as 2 cats himself because he's a giant. Scent was light and not overpowering and litterbox has not had any odor issues. Love it!
