I get so many great tasting bottles of water out of this and it's little to no waste. This is really easy to set up and maintain which makes it very convenient to use and maintain.

We have saved an enormous amount of money using Brita and filtering our own water - far healthier than so-called "pure" bottled water, which is definitely contaminated, as discussed on today's Dr. Oz program. We moved into a new house that has well water. Water is all I drink all day, and the well water is horrible. I CANNOT drink it. We were buying 2 cases of bottled water each week, and knowing all those bottles were ending up in a landfill was terrible. I bought the Brita pitcher and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] To make a long story short, we ended up with a non-Brita filter to use in our water pitcher. Right a way there was an issue with the water running around the filter. And what water did go through the filter went through much faster than our usual Brita, telling me that it wasn't filtering very effectively. Then the water just didn't have the same fresh taste as with the Brita filter. We threw away the off brand and went back to Brita in less than a week, so it ended up costing us more money.
