It uses the filters I can buy at my local grocery store and the same filter fits both pitchers. I don't like the taste of the plastic I get when I buy bottled water so the dog gets that water and I wash and reuse the bottles with my filtered water. It's the only water I drink. Someday I'll get a bottle that I can use with my filtered water as I don't drink tap water. I totally love my old pitcher and my new pitcher that tells me when it's time to change the filter as well as the Brita filters I use.

I can tell as soon as it is time to replace the filter. I refuse to drink any water that has not be filtered though my brita. Girls at work think I'm totally crazy!!! I love my brita!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like the pitcher. I bought set of filters last year and I'm at the last filter. Water tastes better when I use the filter. My only concern is I see black particles coming out from the filters, but maybe only 1 or 2 black particles wind up in the bottom of the pitcher. When I drink the water and see some particles, I just remove them. I really like using the filters because buying bottled water can be expensive and avoiding bottled water helps the environment.

We have a strong chlorine smell and with these filters it completely eliminates that. I can tell when my filter needs replaced by when it starts to taste like swimming pool.

Brita filters do not leave black particles in the pitcher. They do not seep water around the outside of the filter even when fitted. And Brita filters do not take forever to fill the pitcher because the water flows quickly through it
