For best results, make sure the product is suitable for your floor. Do not use the Swiffer WetJet or PowerMop on unfinished, oiled or waxed wooden floors, non-sealed tiles, or carpet. If it is suitable, for best results, sweep or vacuum your floor before using the device. If your floor is brand new, it may have a special coating to protect it during shipping, and this can cause streaking. Streaking and cloudiness can also happen if other cleaning products have been used on the floor recently. In either case, using the product a few more times should solve the problem. If you don't want to use our product to remove the film/residue, feel free to use any cleaner designed for the floor. We're sorry you're disappointed to find dirt left behind when using our PowerMop, Steph16. We're dedicated to making it easier and convenient to have your home sparkling clean, and lot of thought and research goes into our product designs. For best results, we recommend that always sweep or vacuum the floor before mopping. When using the PowerMop, spray cleaning solution onto the floor by pushing the spray button on the handle down for 2 or 3 seconds to release enough solution to clean 10 square feet of floor. Spray a generous amount of solution on the area you are cleaning. Let the solution sit for 10-15 seconds. If the pad doesn't glide smoothly, spray more solution. We recommend that you clean the least dirty area first, saving the dirtiest floor for last. We hope these tips help you see sparkling results in the future. When your Swiffer PowerMop has fully-charged batteries in it, and you press the trigger for 2-3 seconds, your spray should land about 10 inches in front of the mopping head. It's possible your batteries need to be replaced or aren't fully inserted into the battery cartridge correctly. We ask you to switch them out with fresh, brand new, one-time-use AA batteries.
