Hold the button on the handle for several seconds until spray comes out of the nozzle; you may need to squeeze the solution bottle gently while pressing the spraying button. As for your floor being sticky, if you have used another cleaner on the floor recently, or the floor is new, that may cause this. Going over your floor a few times should fix it.
