The price lured me in but this is a terrible substitute for vanilla. It has no real vanilla smell or taste. I even tasted it side by side with real vanilla and it confirmed that it is just brown liquid with a slightly bitter taste. I much prefer the Molina Mexican vanilla to this. I wish Sam's club would bring it back.

The restaurant where I used to work were using this Imitation Vanilla Flavor and I was Amazed at the strong smell of vanilla. So I decided to buy it for myself. However when I did order this bottle the Vanilla was not powerful at all. May be it was defective product! However I will not recommend it to anyone.

I bought this because I was tired of spending SO much on vanilla extract. I didn't find any difference in the taste of my cookies using this in place of vanilla extract, and I actually find the I like the taste better in things that aren't baked, such as french toast and homemade puddings, because there is no alcohol taste.

Obviously, the 85% of people who approve of this product have not tried it for his/her-self because if he/she had tasted it, he/she too would have given it 1 star. I use a lot of vanilla and given it's so expensive I thought I'd give this a try. I tasted it to learn how well it mimicked vanilla flavor and I was both puzzled and disgusted by the flavor because it doesn't taste of anything other then some strange chemical taste. Is this a production mistake in the factory or is everyone baking with this bizarre concoction? Please try it before you use it is my advice. Lastly, as I could not give it "0" stars, I had to give it the one star, but I will never buy this product, ever.
