I bought this for something that the taste was not a big factor as we planned to doctor it up. But was really surprised how well it tasted by itself. This is great for campouts when you do not want to have to make a big mess cooking up some gravy. Really helped shave some time off the morning cook out over a open fire.

The product itself was pretty good, I can make better, but, when in a hurry, it will do. The main problem is, as has been reported many times, the can was dented at the top and bottom, making it difficult to open. I have had it in the refrigerator for several days now and it has not separated. This may be because I only heated what I used, instead of heating the whole can. I also moved it all to a covered bowl with a tight sealing lid.

I always have a can of this in my pantry, I used to make my own from scratch but this gravy can’t be beat. It has a generous amount of sausage pieces in it as well as a delicious creamy texture. It is a big can so once I open it I usually divvy up what’s left in freezer bags for later breakfasts. It freezes very well. If you love biscuits and gravy like my family does this gravy is a no-brained! Delicious!!!!!!

This sausage gravy saves so much time when making breakfast! And we love this sausage gravy, so delicious over biscuits. My husband loves to have this on hand when he makes breakfast for company. I know it’s a large amount to buy, but I simply divide it up into freezer bags and freeze until needed. Pull frozen gravy out the night before to thaw in frig, microwave in the morning- easy peasy.

Product is good. Nothing will beat homemade gravy but this will do the job. Only issue I have is that the can is dented. I have seen this here and every site that has review this product. Could be that all the dented cans are shipped to big box club stores, amazon, etc. because they can't stock dented cans on the shelves in the regular stores.

my hubby and I are enjoying Chef-mate country sausage gravy. Since retiring and making breakfast more at home, I open the can and freeze in portion sizes and heat easy when we want them. Almost like my homemade but easier to do and gives us another option for us.

Gravy snob here. Everyone has their own version of biscuits and gravy. I don’t like what most restaurants have, some even taste like chicken soup, some have no sausage. This is a completely acceptable gravy to use if your just not into making your own! And I don’t have to order in a restaurant and pay for something I won’t eat anymore !

It tastes just like I made it without the fuss! I tried a couple through the last 30 yrs %26 gave up %26 stuck to making my own from a recipe I got from a sweet southern woman. One day, one of my friends from Louisiana told me how she went to brunch %26 helped clean up %26 there sat a large empty can of Chefmate Sausage Gravy %26 she asked the minister's wife whether that was the sausage gravy she had served with the biscuits %26 she told her it surely was %26 she had been using that for years. My friends stopped making her own %26 now i have also. It is a large amount, but it is less than $12. I take out what I need %26 heat it up in a saucepan %26 the rest goes in Tupperware. I have a neighbor next door %26 I put a good amount in a container %26 gift some to them also. I use the rest up through the week between biscuits %26 gravy, bread up some cube steaks %26 fry them %26 have a bit of gravy on them %26 on mashed potatoes. It is cost-effective for one person for 6 days. I can imagine it would be for a family also. Chefmate has other items that are restaurant/homemade quality items I want to try, but my local Wal-Mart doesn't carry them. All in all, it's a great purchase. Next best thing to homemade!

I ordered biscuits and gravy from the hospital cafeteria and I mentioned how good it was to the lady working there. She told me it was Chef-mate that they used. I buy the large cans and spoon portions into smaller containers to freeze some for later. Good quality.

first of all you're not supposed to be giving anybody a dent in a can it's against the law and both of my cans were dented second of all this sausage gravy wasn't that great it wasn't what I expected but with the dented cans like I said that's against the law I should report you for even having dented cans on the shelf or even in the back and even if you have them in the back you're still not supposed to be using them to customers it is against the law I should report you to what I should do
