I have never ever written a review before. So this is more of a warning than a review. These are truly terrible. I honestly thought we had received a bad/contaminated can. We can checking the expiration date over and over to make sure it wasn’t old. It has almost a weird chemical smell and taste to it. It was so bad we took it from the kids before they could eat it. I took a couple bites and I’m worried about what will happen now? If this is a new recipe then please please go back to what was before. If there has been some kind of recall or something please let me know.

I opened the can and thought they had gone bad due to the awful smell! The expiration date not until 2023, so why do they smell & taste bad? I went to Google and researched this question. New recipe! I guess I'm not the only one who won't be buying this product anymore unless it goes back to previous recipe. If that happens some national commercial would help to inform us. I'll still buy the seasoning packets.

Loved the texture, taste, not much oil was in the can. Other brand, I would have to strain the oil out before heating them up. I will definitely be purchasing this Brand from now on!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I would love this Very bland, no flavor, I had to add a lot to make them taste good enough for everyone to eat. Tastes like mashed up pinto beans and no other flavors. Texture is almost whipped, with some whole beans thrown in.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Old El Paso Refried Beans are superior to other brands. They have a fresher taste and are delicious when you added some chili peppers. I love to enjoy them with cheese added and sometimes I will add shredded cheese while they are still on the stove.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The product was lighter in color than other brands but the taste was comparable. I always add some chopped onion to mine to give it more of a taste and appearance that you would find in a bean burrito.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Old el Paso products are perfect for when you're in the mood for some Mexican food and the traditional refried beans does not disappoint. They are a mixture of smooth bean paste mixed with pieces of chopped up bean. They have a thicker consistency and a fantastic taste. I love them in a traditional taco or to just make a bean and cheese burrito.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm not a major fan of refried beans though I prefer them alongside rice and with a little queso on top. These taste exactly like the kind you get in restaurants though, so I'd def recommend if you enjoy them. This is the go-to brand.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Consistently great product, this recent purchase was used for my Mexicali layered dip which my family LOVES!! Unfortunately, I didn't get a picture of the dip, but, the refried bens are a vital part of the dip and serves as the base that the rest of the layers are added to. The refried beans have a nice consistency and are easy spread, unlike some brands that are really stiff and not as smooth.
