Plenty

This array of six cans of refried beans assures me of plenty on hand. The tastes, texture and flavor of this brand checks ‘all of the boxes’.

BEST REFRIED CANNED BEANS!

I have tried a lot of different Canned Refried Beans and these are the best. I also make my own and these are a close first to my homemade. The flavor is just right and so is the consistency.

Delicious on their own or in Southwest recipes!

Refried beans are a great dish on their own or as a component of a delicious southwest salad or recipe. These should always be a component of a well stocked pantry!

Old ElPaso Refried Beans are great tasting

Old ElPaso refried beans. Love the traditional ones. Heat in microwave with 1/3cup water in bowl and 2 finely diced green onions and 1/2 cup Mexican cheese. Awesome side with my Taco’s love it

Beans, beans, and more beans !!!

I wanted the Rosarita refried beans but they were not in store. However, the old El Paso brand is acceptable

Ok in a pinch

I've been spoiled by using my instapot for home made refried beans. These will do in a pinch but definitely not as fresh tasting and pretty bland. Ok for combining with chicken or beef for enchiladas but i wouldn't eat them solo without some additional flavoring, maybe garlic or hot sauce.

Flavor has changed

Absolutely does not taste the same as "Traditional Refried Beans" It's label is misleading to say the least. Ingredients contain Bioengineer ingredients or as THEY say "derived from". It's been a few years since I've had them last but know I know I won't purchase them again. Does not have a good taste anymore.

We're sorry for any disappointment. Products often contain genetically modified/bioengineered ingredients in the U.S., not because companies seek to use genetically modified/bioengineered ingredients, but because genetically modified/bioengineered crops are so common in the U.S. food supply. Bioengineered seeds have been approved by global food safety agencies and widely used by farmers in food crops for almost 20 years. Today, if an American food or beverage product lists corn, soy, canola, cottonseed or beet sugar as an ingredient and the product is not organic, it likely contains genetically modified/bioengineered ingredients. We do offer consumers a non-GMO choice with organic brands in most of our major U.S. product lines. Safety is our number one priority. We find broad global consensus among food and safety regulatory bodies that approved genetically modified/bioengineered ingredients are safe. The U.N. World Health Organization (WHO), The U.N. Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), The European Food Safety Authority, The U.S. Food and Drug Administration, The U.S. Department of Agriculture, The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and Health Canada have all found approved bioengineered crops to be as safe and acceptable as their conventional counterparts. The National Academy of Sciences, the American Medical Association and the British Royal Society also say there is no health risk associated with genetically modified/bioengineered foods or ingredients. We appreciate the feedback and will pass this on to our team.

LARD (hog fat) is in the BEANS! (Manteca)

Someone is telling a lie. I do not believe this was an oversight…On the website under ingredients, the fact that they use LARD is conveniently left off the list. If one looks on the can, it is clearly labeled they it contains LARD! Oops! Shameful. I have an aversion to animal fats in my food and this is quite distressing and frankly disgusting to me. (Yes, I read EVERY label). I guess I’m looking for another brand besides Old El Paso. Oh well, there are lots of other brands!
