[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Old El Paso refried beans are great! My wife and I have been married almost 40 years and have always used Old El Paso. They are creamy, versatile, and a good addition to every Tex-Mex recipe we make. They are also very good as a stand alone dip with tortilla chips. Our grandson uses them to make a burrito for an after-school snack, or sometimes just has them with cheese and salsa. They are a great source of protein and seasoned perfectly as they are.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I would recommend these. I enjoy Mexican food. These taste very good to me and just need to heat them up either stove top or in the microwave. I prefer stove top. I use them in all of my Mexican meals.

Threw the entire contents of this van away. Watery, disgusting, metallic beans. My son, husband, and I all ate this tonight for taco night and had better not get sick from it. I smelled the metallic smell after my first bite and went back to the container and took a whiff and almost threw up. Will not be purchasing this brand ever again.

I would recommend them to anyone and I have recommended them to family and friends. We warm them up and eat them with nothing else sometimes. There is nothing that I dislike about them. They always bring something great to our plates.

Very disappointed. July, 2023 bought large can of Old El Paso and when I opened it the contents was so soupy. The consistency has always been solid but not this time. Now what brand to go to. Always counted on this brand for years. What happened????

I bought these a while back, and until I opened the first can, I didn’t realize I had opinions on refried beans. To me, in general, refried beans are always tasty, reliably delicious. Now, I realize how wrong I was. The cans said New Recipe! My entire family, with the exception of the 9 month old baby (who doesn’t know any better!), refuses to eat it because it’s gross. If you can put it inside something that will mask the flavor, it’s adequate, but otherwise, don’t waste your money. Get some beans that actually taste good.

I grew up with your refried beans.52 years old.I ate them as a child.I have only ever bought Old El Paso refried beans.Ever.I have never tried,or even wanted to try,another brand. Until now. I thought something was different in the texture,the taste,the look.Thought it might be a weird batch.No.The next can and the next can.Different,and not in a good way.I did not realize that you had changed the recipe until I came here and found out what happened. I guess there is nothing that can be done now, so go ahead and give me the generic reply you have given everybody else,and pass this information on to the team. Obviously, brand loyalty is not really important to you. You say you changed the recipe in direct response to consumer feedback. Well, look at all the feedback being given to you by the people who regularly buy your product, and have taken the time to come here and let you know.Look at these responses.Overwhelmingly negative. I like trying new things and do not fear change, so goodbye Old El Paso.Thanks for a wonderful 52 years.I will be moving on to another brand.

It’s a dependable product which is what I want when cooking. I do dress it up a bit with some taco sauce or taco seasoning. The flavor is good, but I like mine just a bit bolder.
