I like to make a small plate of Tostitos for lunch, First I spread around some of the refried beans then, spread around thin sliced lettuce and tomatoes, and finish with a generous sprinkle of shredded cheese. Delicious and nutritious.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I absolutely love Old El Paso Traditional refried beans. My husband and I have been purchasing these for years. I use them for Nachos, Dips and as a side. They are always creamy and so fresh tasting. Old El Paso is the only brand of refried beans I use. I would strongly recommend this product.

I bought two cans of traditional refried beans dated 2025. Both of the cans were extremely watery and runny. We were unable to eat them and I can’t take them back for a refund. Is this a problem with the manufacturer or the handling of the product? Please advise. Not a happy customer.

I make quesadillas several times a month. Tonight I opened a can of Old El Paso Traditional Refried Beans and found them to be very watery. I thought it was a bad can, so I opened two more all resulting in the same runny texture, chemical smell, and taste. I was convinced there was a factory incident in which cleaning chemicals leaked into the cans. Dinner was ruined. I didn't realize until I read these reviews that this was an INTENTIONAL change. I'm looking for a new brand...any suggestions?

We just tried these with our nachos, and like others here, we thought they had gone bad. They were not at all savory, and they left a strong chemical or chlorine aftertaste. We threw away the whole large can of them. I’m baffled that customer service keeps saying these changes were in response to customer feedback. Did anyone taste these before they sent them to market? I read the ingredient list and it doesn’t list any chemicals. This was disappointing and a waste of food and money.

I was so looking forward to Taco night, thinking about it all day. One of my favorite ingredients is the tried and true Old El Paso Refried beans in the can. As soon as I spread it on the tortilla I thought I noticed something different about the texture, but didn't think much of it. After all, I was starving. Taking the first bite, I was shocked! I am so not a picky eater, but this took me by surprise. Immediately asked...."Did we use a different brand of beans? because these are disgusting!". I promise I'm not lying when I say this is the first time I've taken the time to wright a review of any sort. There is no way anyone can convince me that someone had the idea to change the recipe after tasting this. I get it, things happen, supply, yada yada yada.....but really? If it makes any difference, I will be double for a can of the old recipe if and when available. Until then, we will be tasting other brands! We wouldnt be complete at our fiesta without old el paso traditional refried beans to partner. The taste is great with the perfect amount of flavor.i recommend to all to try them today and dont hesitate.you wont be sorry
