[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] They’re just OKAY refried beans. If you’re in a hurry, or not picky…they’ll do. They’re definitely not the best brand I’ve found and I use a lot of refried beans. They come out of the can kind of soft and wet like they had too much liquid left before they were canned and sealed. Flavor wise they’re passable. You won’t hate them, but they’re unremarkable. 4/10.

My wife and I heated up a can of refried beans and took a taste. Horrible chemical taste. We thought something was wrong with the can. Seriously, it tasted like we were poisoned or the liner of the can leeched plastic into the beans. Expiration date was fine. Glad, at least, to see others with this problem so we don’t panic that something is terribly wrong. Just horrible refried beans. Used to love them.

I have been buying these for years and opened a can tonight and it was completely runny and watery. I assume they are diluting to increase the profit. First the regular taco shells became super tiny and thin, and then the seasoning started tasting flavorless like filler, and now the beans are ruined. I've been buying Old El Paso products for at least 20 years--What is going on?

We have been buying the traditional refried beans for years and now the flavor is AWFUL what did you guys do. We couldnt even eat them tonight that's how bad the flavor was. Not to mention they looked horrible too. We checked the expiration date and we still had 2 years so I cant blame that.

Very disappointed. I bought several cans for our weekly taco night and every single can had a metallic, almost fermented, taste. Even the smell was off putting. Right in the trash they all went. Hopefully your team will highly reconsider this “new” recipe and go back to the amazing taste and consistency of the original recipe.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Always and outstanding addition to our feasts! Perfect consistency and always tastes great! I like to heat it up in a serving dish and top it with a ton of shredded cheddar and bake. Serve with sour cream, chives, and some chips to dip!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Old el Paso taste the best of all refried beans that I have tried. Not dry like other brands. I recommend old el Paso brand over any other brand. You will find that the taste is so much better than other brands.

The not only taste great, but they help keep your taco or wrap together--' literally!!! They are great"glue" for whatever you are serving that night.

I love refried beans and have had Old El Paso's canned refried beans many times, both traditional and vegetarian, and liked them. However, the can I got at the store last week says 'New Recipe' and is absolutely terrible. It's just bland mush. They completely ruined our chicken burritos tonight. I will be looking for a new brand.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These beans are my favorite for when we do Mexican night. They taste great on their own and my family likes to use them in quesadillas. The pop tab top makes it easy to open and heat. It's also very good in a 7-layer dip.
