I bought two cans of traditional refried beans dated 2025. Both of the cans were extremely watery and runny. We were unable to eat them and I can’t take them back for a refund. Is this a problem with the manufacturer or the handling of the product? Please advise. Not a happy customer.

The taste has completely changed to where they have an unusual salty flavor taste that takes over and I have had to change brands. I thought maybe I just got 1 bad can but I visited my sister in a different state and she had them for dinner one night and they still tasted horrible. What happened?? :(

Old El Paso was my go-to brand for traditional refried beans. Now since they changed their formula, they have a weak and runny texture and taste terrible. They taste like severely watered-down beans and perhaps cardboard. I don't understand how your company took a superior brand and made it into a bad tasting generic refried beans product on purpose. I'm curious to know the real story - this could not have been done due to customer requests as stated. We noticed a change several cans ago but thought the inferior taste was because of a bad bean season or something, so we gave it another chance to see if that got straightened out. After heating up a can of your Old El Paso Traditional Refried Beans last night, we thought they were spoiled they tasted so bad, but they were not expired and the can was in good shape. We are switching brands now, so sorry to lose our go-to brand.

I thought I mistakenly purchased a low sodium version of traditional retried beans, but NOPE! Just a tasteless pile of goop! What the heck?! I threw the rest of my burrito away!! Then came here and read TONS of bad reviews on your new recipe. Hahahahaha! Wow!! Good luck with that! Movin’ on to something new, and hopefully better!!

These were my go to refried beans. We eat a lot of Tex-mex so I buy several cans a week. The last two times they did not taste right, and I thought I got a bad batch. It looks like lots of others are having the same experience. Please bring back the original recipe or I'm unfortunately going to have to find a new brand.

I agree with most of the other reviews on the refried beans "new recipe". It's basically tasteless paste, and I'm shocked that your development and testing teams determined that it was a better substitute for your old recipe. I won't be buying the "new recipe" again.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have a taco/burrito night at least one a week. This is our go to choice for refried beans in our house. Always has a great taste and good consistency. You can’t go wrong with Old El Paso retired beans

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My family loves them on taco night. I am not a huge bean eater but I make them for the other people in my house when we have Mexican food. They go well with everything we cook. Fair price and I would definitely recommend these to anyone!

The last 2 cans were like water. I have one more can, and if it comes out watery like the last two I'll find a different brand of beans. I hate to do that, but I can not serve this type of refried beans again. I do not recommend this type of refried beans.

I’ve been buying Old El Paso products for YEARS! Tonight, I opened a can of the traditional refried beans and they were TERRIBLE!!!! They weren’t runny like I’ve read in some recent reviews, they just tasted AWFUL!!! Threw them in the trash because my entire family refused to eat them. If this is a result of a recipe change, they need to consider changing back to the original recipe before they lose all of their brand loyal customers!!! I’m out!
