I didn't and it wasn't heating up. Referred to the user manual.... duh. There IS a line of succession that needs to be followed. Do as it says and it works as it is intended. I've only used it once and I. Love. It. Already!!! We had grilled veggies and a T-bone steak. Golly it was tasty!!! I had an indoor grill years ago. This is sooo much better. No smoke either. Awesome kitchen grill!!

I have only used it a couple of times but with very good results. It really fills the need for an electric grill that can be used on my balcony, on which open flames are prohibited. I have been experimenting with using foil wrapped hickory chips to enhance the flavor. It's moderately successful but I will keep tweaking the process.

This grill is amazing. The grill is structured so that there is no smoke that comes off of it and instead, gets filtered inside the grill. The material is top quality and it's pretty large, so you can grill a lot of food at the same time. The grilling is also very quiet and the grill is very easy to clean. All you need to do is stick it into the dishwasher. Absolutely great quality product for its relatively alright price. I wrote this review as part of a contest!

This was a complete waste of money and time. I had high hopes of wonderfully grilled steaks in the comfort of home but ended up with completely uncooked meat on everything but the inside. This was after grilling at the highest setting for over an hour. Even though the steaks weren't cooked they sure managed to get every little part of the grill dirty. You can imagine how frustrating it was to have to clean before returning. When I told customer service I didn't think they should continue selling them because they were so awful, they said I was one of many. That should tell you everything.. If you buy it, it's your own fault..

I was really excited to receive this based on the good reviews. However it is a big let down thus far. So far I have made BLT's on it. Barely got hot enough to toast the bread. Fortunately the bacon was precooked so it only needed to warm. Tonight I tried cooking two 1 inch thick sirloin steaks. I preheated to 450 deg.F. thinking I would get a good sear. Well 30 minutes later the steaks barely had grill marks on them and were raw inside. I ended up slicing them in half length wise to make them only 1/2 inch thick. After cooking them for another 10 minutes I finally ended up with a medium to medium rare steak?? The steaks had no grill flavor whatever. I felt like I had ruined two nice steaks having to cut them down the middle. I may have ended up with a lemon but this thing is not good for anything but warming up already cooked food. It took 10 minutes to get grill marks on bread? You can hold your hand 1 inch above the grill and it barely feels warm at 450 deg setting? So this one may have to go back. Too bad

I have had my smokeless grill for a month, I love it. I have made steaks, chops, salmon filets. They grilled up great without smoking up my house or smell. I also made pancakes and eggs on the griddle. Absolutely no sticking when turning the food. The nonstick coating is great. A slight washing for cleaning no stuck on food. And the ease in using is terrific. I'm anxious to use for other recipes.

I am very happen with the purchase of this item. Cooks well both griddle and grill. They are both easy to clean along with the entire unit. The only thing we have trouble with is setting the temperature. So, we cook everything on high and keep a close eye on it. However, I do not regret buying. I hate outside grills and I now have a product that works better.

Food really taste good. Easy to put together. Easy to clean. The only con I found was the metal drip pan seems a little thin and could bend by accident, but I'm very careful with it. I would recommend that if you are using a dishwasher to wash off this drip pan good before placing it in so as to prevent bad water spots. I washed by hand and all did fine. I bought another one for my daughter. I have used many grills in past, but if you are looking for something comparable to an outside grill....this is as good as it gets. Also NO SMOKE!

...or a no-cooker. It sounds like some of these work and some don't. We had high hopes for it, but it did not get hot enough to cook. It took half an hour to cook some steaks that we cut down to 1/2 inch thick, and even then some parts were almost raw. We gave it another chance with chicken shish-kabobs, using very small pieces of meat. After half an hour we took them out and broiled them in the oven. This was at the highest temperature setting and plugged into a 20A circuit. Although the instructions contain multiple warnings about wearing oven mitts, I was able to lay the palms of my hands on the lid. Fortunately Sam's took it back with no problem. The clerk commented that she had received several others.

This grill works for my needs. We use it for hotdogs, burgers, chicken thighs, chicken nuggets, eggs, toast, pancakes and whatever else. The one bad thing is that you have to clean the bottom water tray area. If not, it smells really bad. The 2 grill plates are easy to clean. I would recommend this.
