I have gotten 3 of these freezers. The first one we got home and plugged it, never worked. We returned it for another one, plugged it in, the compresser worked but freezer never got cold. We returned it. The third one we got home plugged it in worked great for almost 6 months to the day, went to get something out of it and everything was thawed out. This freezer ia a P.O.S don not waste your time.

THE WORST FREEZER EVER!! THE FREEZER ARRIVED DAMAGED AND THE DOOR KEPT FALLING OFF, I THEN DECIDED TO ORDER A REPLACEMENT! WHEN THE REPLACEMENT CAME WHAT DO YOU KNOW! IT WAS DAMAGED TOO! I JUST ASKED FOR A REFUND AND DECIDED NOT TO BUY A FREEZER FROM WALMART.

We purchased one of these freezers in club a few years ago as a backup freezer. It worked well and kept things cold for a couple of years and then one day just stopped freezing. I reached out to the manufacturer by email and phone several times to get info on what parts could be the cause and might be replaceable (hoping to buy the part and pay someone to install it) and got no reply ever. It wasn't worth pursuing a diagnostic call from a 3rd party so the freezer went to the dump. All I can say is for $220+tax (plus dump fee) broken out over 2-3 years, I guess it was a decent value, but I would not recommend buying one unless you are willing to replace it after a couple of years.

It uses a variable speed compressor to save energy. Starting wattage is 386 watts for 2 seconds, then will drop down to 112 watts after 2 minutes. Ideal for alternative energy users that use solar and wind power like me. I have it set to -2ºF and works like a charm. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is that the sides are thin metal, and the top is thin plastic and has a tendency to crack during shipment. The shelves freeze right where it is needed to keep food cold. Overall it is a very good freezer. Estimated power usage is $30 per year.

Picked mine up at Sams Club Santa Clarita... Unpackaged, inspected, not a dent. Checked inside. The coils embedded in the shelf just means you can't hide grandma in the freezer. So far works great. Have it set up in my Toy Hauler. Throw in 40 pounds of ice and it's like a portable freezer until i get to my destination or i'll Leave it on the solar system at 1 amp per hour draw during freeze up. After freeze up the little freezer draws very little from my 500 watt system on 2 AGM batteries also bought at Sams.

Picked up July 2020, knew to keep it UPRIGHT during transport. It has stayed at zero degrees ever since we plugged it in, 3 years and counting. Ours gets heavy use, I defrost it every 3 months, unplug, unload, lay a large bath towel down on the floor and on to bottom shelf. Come back in 15 minutes. Pat dry the shelves with a different towel, enjoy having it reorganized anyhow. Waiting for next sale price so we can pick one up for our daughter. I bought ours after my son told us how well theirs does, and in a garage!

Both deliveries brought a damaged freezer. I would’ve kept the second one, but the door won’t open without pulling it with everything you’ve got. Many reviews state that it stops working after a few months. I’m going to just buy a name brand freezer and spend 3x as much. I can’t afford to lose hundreds of dollars worth of food. Sam’s customer service was awesome though!!

Was looking for medium size freezer, but did not want the hassle of a chest freezer with everything piled up . Works great freezes everything evenly and offers lots of extra space for a small family. Not to mention price was lower for size then Best Buy or Sears

We purchased this unit on line with Sam's Club, upon arrival it didn't work, it would not cool much less freeze anything. I contacted the Thompson under the terms of the warranty to have them repair the unit. They wanted photo's of the front, back of the unit, serial and model number, a copy of the bill of sale and a copy of the bill all of which I emailed them. They also wanted a copy of lading which I didn't have since I wasn't the shipper. Long story short, Thompson nothing to repair or replace the unit. Over a course of four or five days nothing was done except waste my time. STAY AWAY FROM THIS UNIT BECAUSE THE SUPPLIER /MANUFACTURE WILL NOT STAND BEHIND WHAT THEY SELL!!!!!!!!!

I will never order a bigger item again freezer is so banged up I would love to send it back and deliver took longer than stated. If i didn’t buy a bunch of meat that needed to be frozen the morning of delivery I would have sent it back so unhappy I could of went into another place that I can’t mention because they flagged and got this item 40% off due to its damage I wouldn’t recommend ordering anything big from them unless u want a damaged item. I purchased for my mom she sent me pictures but they will not let me upload them either
