I have always used Cascade products. Our d/w is 9 months old. The manufacturer recommended pacs in lieu of powder or gel. I have been using the Cascade Complete action pacs, Recently there has been a very strong perfumey smell when I open the d/w, and very strong on all plastics, my pot & pans, and now coffee mugs. It is sickeningly sweet(With Dawn Fresh Scent). So strong I can taste it in my coffee. I tried cleaning my d/w using vinegar. I was unaware that a formula had been changed. As of now, I cannot recommend this product.. I am concerned about the health aspects of this:the possibility of chemicals being released into our bodies! I'm relieved to know there are others with the same problem.

My dishwasher uses an impeller/filter system to grind the solid waste so it can more easily be flushed down the drain. The problem is that the residue from the gel pack combines with the food waste thus clogging the filter. After only 3 months of using this produce I have had to have my dishwasher serviced twice. If your dishwasher uses this type of system, do not use gel pods.

I actually bought bulk of another product and tried several others..I bought the dishwashing liquid and figure i should give the pacs a try. Best decision. I will toss the rest of my bulk. and stock this products. The dishes come out spotless everytime. The scent is also pleasant.

I was impressed by the new bright shine of my dishes the first time I used Cascade Extra Action 2 in 1 Action Pacs with Dawn. But I was also surprised by the very strong perfume-like aroma that bellowed out of my dishwasher. The label says it is the "melon blossom scent"... it smells like a cheap perfume. I wouldn't mind, but unfortunately now that I have used the product 3 times, that aroma seems to be locked into my plastic ware. My kitchen cupboard has the smell in it, and when I microwave my foods in the containers, the smell is in the dish and the microwave. Otherwise, the product works well.

Cascade Platinum powers off all the food and leaves my dishes sparkling clean....ps my dog does not like you at all! lol

This product is horrible. It has literally ruined some of my dishes. I have to scrub and soak them after they come out of the dishwasher. I have a brand new dishwasher and use a rinse aid as well and my dishes still come out covered in white chalky residue. I have grown up using cascade but i will never use it again, which really makes me sad.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Cleans beautifully. Leaves no trace of dirt behind. Platinum Cascade with which ever scent you please will get the job done. Just don't expect it to blast through incorrectly racking dirty dishes in your dishwasher it's pretty awesome but it's not magic. It's science! And don't forget The Cascade Platinum Rinse aid.

I had been using cascade with bleach and my dishes and glassware that had a film on them. I got cascade complete and they are worse than with the cascade with bleach. I don't know if I'll ever get the shine back. The Tupperware and plastic looks totally ruined. I have used cascade in the past and never had a problem with it.
