I am a chemist. We have used "Cascade" for years with excellent results. Now, there are several new formulations to choose from. We have, up to now, used the formulation with the grey cap. Recently we have been having dificulty finding the formulation with the grey cap, so we tried the one with the green cap. When we used the gel with the green cap we found that our aluminum cookware came out of the dishwasher discolored, some almost black, although glass and ceramic materials were nice and clean. Being a chemist, I was curious as to the difference between the two formulations. I found that the bottle with the green top listed sodium hydroxide as one of the ingredients. As any first-year chemist knows, sodium hydroxide will discolor aluminum, even dissolve it if concentrated enough. P&G have since removed the ingredients list from the label, so now we buy "Cascade" by the color of the cap. I am afraid that P&G are phasing out "Cascade" with the grey cap. My recommendation is: do not wash aluminum ware with the new formulations. The new formulations seem to work fine for our other kitchen utensils.

seems in last 2 years it has ruined many old family pots . had to throw out 30-40 year old presure cooker it discolored and many other pots and pans ,and putting streaks in my Bosh dishwasher . i will find some other dish wash product. NOT REAL HAPPY with this product......

I am probably one of the first to use Cascade Action Pacs out of neccesity because the door on my dishwashers soap despenser broke and the action pacs I could just toss into the bottom of the dishwasher. When I saw the excellent job they do, even when certain family members don't rinse their dishes, I was sold. I only use the Cascade Action Pacs and will never go back to any conventional pour in dishwasher liquid again.

We used to prewash with Dawn and use Cascade in our dishwasher. That worked out well and would leave no food particles on the dishes. I was sent to the store and saw them and decided to use the action pacs since in combined two products that we already use. We have now been using the dropins for several months. The prewash has been cutdown to a rinse and our dishes have never been more brite.

The product ate the finish off the outside of my pots and pans and left a white film on them. My pots and pans are ruined and it is not like they are cheap to replace. Very upset and disappointed!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My dishwasher is out of the late 60s early 70s and with other dishwashing powders and/or liquids I think I would have been better off letting the dog clean my dishes! Cascade Platinum powers off all the food and leaves my dishes sparkling clean....ps my dog does not like you at all! lol

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have tried using diffrent store brands at a lesser price. Only to learn, lesser price means lesser quality. The dishwasher was having issues with clean rinse. Made the decision to try Cascade. The problem is now a thing of the past.

I'm having a terrible problem since using the phosphate free deterent, with white soapy staining on my silverware, and pots and pans. I can't figure out what to do to get rid of them. I've tried cutting back on the amount of soap I use, but that doesn't totally get rid of the problem. Any advice?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I thought when you came out with Cascade Complete that the product could not get better. However, when I tried Cascade Platinum Pacs, I was wrong. Cascade Platinum Pacs leave my dishes and silver ware spotless - even if I overload the dishwasher which sometimes I find myself doing. This is the only product that I ever buy now!
