Great cleaning but leaves bad taste on dishes

I was excited to see Cascade with the scent of Gain, as I have loved both products for years. I thought this would be great to have the kitchen smelling like Gain, but not only did my kitchen smell like Gain, the dishes TASTED like Gain. I had to dump out my tea because it tasted like I was drinking detergent. I will not buy the scented versions again!

Don't like the film that is left afterwards!

I loved Cascade products until recently. I recently bought Cascade Complete Action Pacs only to use them and have issues. My dishes smell very strongly of the dish detergent scent and have white powder residue all over each dish. So disappointing to use your dishwasher only to have to completely wash each dish over.

this product caused my machine to leak

We started using the Actionpacs about 3 months ago. About 2 weeks ago our machine started leaking around the door. We replaced the door seal, thinking that was the problem. The new seal failed to fix the problem. After checking with several online repair sites, we found that the Actionpacs were the cause of our leak. There was a severe build-up of residue inside the machine caused by the material that the Actionpacs are made of. We cleaned this residue off and the leak was fixed. I would not recommend this product to anyone for that reason.

Ruined my plastics!

I purchased 2 bags of the New Zealand Springs scent Cascade. It is AWFUL! All my plastic spatulas and storage containers taste like perfume! Unfortunately it took me a few weeks to notice where the bad taste was coming from. All baking I stored in containers that were plastic was ruined for Christmas. Any food that was stored in glass dishes with plastic lids was pretty much awful! So dissapointing! Doesn't P&G test this before they send it out on the market? I am now in the process of trying to figure out how to get this awful smell out of all my plastics AND my dishwasher!!!! My daughter also purchased the Berry scent and is having the same problem. My dishwasher is Stainless steel inside (all but the racks) but her's is plastic throughout....is there anything that will take out the scent? We have tried vinegar to no avail! Hope you can help me. I am not going to be purchasing cascade for a long time if ever because I am afraid of encountering problems again.

Complete Pacs don't dissolve

I bought two packages of the Complete Pacs. I thought they worked fine the first time or two, and then I noticed the pac was still in the dishwasher, mostly undissolved. I thought perhaps I hadn't closed the bag properly and this may have caused the problem. I opened the second bag, and then stored that bag in a plastic container. Hoping that perhaps making sure it was sealed properly (no moisture could get in) they would work better. It didn't help at all. I always run the water at the sink before starting the dishwasher to ensure that it starts with hot water. I do not overcrowd my dishwasher, so I don't feel the arms are blocked in any way. I tried putting them in the bottom of the dishwasher; one time it worked and the next time it didn't. I guess this will be the last Complete Pac purchase I make. I really liked the convenience, but they just aren't working 100% in my dishwasher.

Cascade Platinum ActionPacs causing discoloration

I put my Revere Ware pots in our dishwasher and used the Cascade Platinum pods. The copper bottoms of the pots turned gray, which I couldn't scrub back to their original color. I went back to using Cascade Complete pods and the original copper color returned. I also washed some sterling silver utensils with the Platinum pods and they ended up discolored as well. Required cleaning with silver polish to remove the discoloration. Again, using the Cascade Complete pods did not cause any discoloration to the silver pieces.

Film

I have been using Cascade for a very long time. Never having any problems. Just recently I have noticed a white film on my dishes. Has anyone else had this problem? Is Cascade using different ingredients? I am not a very happy person at the moment as my new purple dishes have this white film. I have switched to another product.

The cleaning power of Cascade Action Pacs has dropped significantly

I've been a very loyal fan of Cascade Action Pac dishwashing sachets for a number of years - I loved them! I don't know what's happened but the product in the tub of 115 Action Pac Cascade sachets I've been using over the last few months just isn't cleaning my dishes properly - the glassware and cutlery come out looking dull and with water spots rather than sparkling clean like they used to. I'm one of those people who rinses the dishes before putting them in the dishwasher. My dishwasher has been checked out and it's working well. Has Proctor & Gamble changed this dishwasher detergent product's formula? In the meantime, I bought a tub of 'Finish' Powerball sachets to try out....to see if it gives me back sparkling clean dishes.

BUY WITH CAUTION!

Be cautious with this. It contains Dawn Dishwashing detergent. My dishwasher started leaking out the front when I changed to this product. Thinking that the dishwasher needed maintenance since it is 19 years old, we changed the door seal, baffles and cleaned the float. Then I tested it with just water, no leaking. Ran it with a Finish pod I had left over before I bought this, no leaking. Then I tried this product again and water came out the door, but only after the pod had been released during the cycle and, when I opened the dishwasher to see if I could pinpoint the leak, mounds of suds came flowing onto the floor. Until I looked at the product description closely I did not realize that it had Dawn dish liquid in one of the pouches. I finally realized the dishwasher leaked only because of the amount of suds that were being produced during the cycle. I also ran another water only cycle and found residual suds from the Cascade wash in the water which means that the Cascade was not rinsing completely at the end of the cycle, leaving detergent in the dishwasher and consequently, on the previously run dishes. I have discarded this product and gone back to Finish products which produce minimal suds which is what automatic dishwashers were designed for. You may not have a similar experience, all dishwashers are different, but in this case I found that it was not my dishwasher, but the action and additives of this type of pod.

Please know, we always expect your dishwasher to run smoothly, and lead to delightfully clean dishes, J. Reading about your experience makes us wonder if you happen to have a leak in your rinse aid dispenser, since you mentioned the maintenance you had done on your machine. It may also help to make sure your washer is level, if it's tipped, this could cause leaking, too. We'd truly like to talk further with you, we hope you'll give us a jingle any Monday through Friday, from 9 AM to 6 PM, EST. Our number is 1 (800) 925-6278, call when you can.

Sick and tired of rewashing dishes!

I am so frustrated that my dishes, especially my once CLEAR glasses are gross to use unless I rewash them by hand. I have used the Cascade Complete pacs in combination with rinse aid and being certain that the washer is loaded properly and I run Hot water before I start my washer. Please bring back phosphates or reformulate! This needs to be changed!
