Cascade Complete - Fresh Scent leaves a stong "yucky" after taste on plastic.

At first I though it was bad coffee, but then when the same taste begin appearing in all my beverages drank from plastic cups - then in my lunch leftovers placed in plastic containers and then the brownies I made from a silicone pan - I realized that all the containers had previously been washed in the dishwasher using the Fresh Scent Cascade concentrated pouch. Yes, the dishes come clean but I am back to hand washing the plastics due to the strong scent and taste being absorbed by my dishes in the dishwasher. The Fresh Scent Cascade Complete is too strong. Now even my dishwasher smells of the strong fake scent. By the way it is a new dishwasher and a sample pack of unscented Cascade left no extra scents or taste on the dishes.

Did not work

I had made a dish called green bean mousska. It would not have been that hard to scrape off the residue. I saw the commercials for Cascade complete and thought for once I won't have to wash this 9x13 pyrex dish before I wash it.I Also I had some dirty glasses that had Kefir residue that I thought I would not have to rinse. I have a May Tag dish washer and run hot water before I set the timer on the dishwasher. My dishes did not come clean.

Cascade Complete Action pack with Dawn

To Whom It May Concern, I was extremely disappointed in your cascade pac. Inside my bag all of the little pacs were stuck together. As I tried to separate them the packs tore open and I had powder and gel oozing everywhere. Now the bottom of my bag is filled with powder and gel and I am unable to use half the pacs. I have always loved cascade products but now I am rethinking that since I just wasted a ton of money.

only works in heavy duty cycle

I would like to have a choice in my washing cycles. My dishes don't get clean unless I use the heavy duty cycle and this cycle uses tons of hot water so up goes the electric bill. I washed a normal load on the normal cycle last night and my dishes still had a slimy film and small particles of food left on my plates. I have found another product w/phosphates and I'm ordering right now. So long Cascade.

Don't buy the hype. Does not clean well at all.

These are just awful. I have a brand new fancy Whirlpool dishwasher and some of these Platinum ActionPac pods came with it. I already had some Cascade Total Clean pods (the green plastic container) on hand, so over the next week I thought this would be an interesting test of detergents. I alternated a total of four nearly identical loads, e.g. a Platinum Action Pac pod for 1 load, then Total Clean pod for the next load and so on. All dishes were very well-scraped and well-rinsed before loading, and dishwasher cycles were set to "heavy" four-hour cleaning cycles with "sani rinse" afterward, even though the dishwasher was never very heavily loaded and the dishes were not very dirty to begin with. You'd think everything would come out great right? Nope. Both loads with the Platinum pods came out disgusting. It didn't clean protein or starches at all (light residue on wet pet food dishes and cans, and light residue from rice on bowls and utensils) - even though, remember, everything was well-scraped and well-rinsed first. Almost everything in the Platinum ActionPac loads had to be rewashed by hand afterwards. Both loads with the cheaper Total Clean pods came out sparkling squeaky clean, every single dish, even the ones that had pet food and sticky rice residue. So I'll stick with the cheaper Total Clean pods and avoid this. As another reviewer said, the "Platinum Action" stuff is all hype and marketing. Just because it's more expensive doesn't mean it's better. Save your money and stick with the cheaper stuff that actually works.

Ruins plastic, fouls ceramic

We have used Cascade for years with no problems, but this product ruined our plastic and rubber kitchen utensils, turning them white, and fouled our Lennox ceramics. Fortunately several baths in vinegar and a wash in a competing product got the ceramics back to normal, but the plastic and rubber items are ruined. I've seen the other reviews and responses and we do not have a problem with temperature or water pressure, nor have we had a problem with the competing detergent now that we have switched, so this is a formula issue, and not one worth living with. P&G you should have tested this product more!

Best product produced lately

Re: Cascade Complete I recenly had a stove malfunction while cooking green beans which resulted in one of my very best pieces of cookware being left with a thick coating of burned beans in the bottom. Usually I can boil Soda & water to cut burned food loose but this time it was to no avail. Being a faithful user of Cascade Complete I decided to try boiling one pac in the pot. Right away the water turned black and the burned food began releasing. I repeated the process and, to my great pleasure, my pot is like new and the burned food is only a bad memory. Not knowing whether or not you had this on your suggestion list, like overnight casserole dishes, I thought I would pass it along to you. I am so pleased and happy to have salvaged my cookware and I owe it all to Cascade Complete. Thank you for such a wonderful product.

Great until this month, please fix

I started using Cascade gel packs several months ago and was very pleased with the results using several varieties. HOWEVER, something changed this month and the packs no longer dissolve properly. My water temperature is set higher than 140 and I only run hot washes. We are on a public water supply without water hardness problems. I reran my dishwasher three times recently in order to get the casing around one gel pack to dissolve. This happened with the green and yellow packs. (side note: I tried a competitors product over the summer and they had the same problem of the gel pack not dissolving) . PLEASE resolve the issue soon since this was a great product.

Cleans dishes but scent lingers

I bought Cascade complete because my dishes were not coming out clean with other detergents. However, when I first used them, my dishes and kitchen began smelling like the "fresh scent". Now, when I drink or eat from plastic dishes all I smell is the dishwashing detergent. I would not recommend this particular scent of cascade. However, I would try a non-scented version because I do believe if cleaned my dishes better than any other brand.
