Destroys plastic

Another warning to STAY AWAY from the current version of this product. I had the gel in the citrus scent. It ruined all of my plasticware - I just tossed more than a dozen plastic tupperware type containers in the trash because all of my food tastes and smells like soap - ESPECIALLY if you reheat in the container. Hoping that washing with a new detergent will save some of my nicer plastic and silicon utensils. I used to use store brand gels and decided to try a brand like Cascade. Backfired on me! My entire kitchen reeks of this detergent (which by the way bares little resemblance citrus) long after the last wash cycle was run. After a few washes and realizing what was happening to my dishes, I threw out the rest.

Product won't dissolve.

I have been using the Cascade Action Pacs and have had awesome results until I tried these. I've tried 5 or 6 out of the package and they will not dissolve so the detergent isn't being released. But I cannot find my receipt so I can't get the guarantee:(

Ruins plastic, fouls ceramic

We have used Cascade for years with no problems, but this product ruined our plastic and rubber kitchen utensils, turning them white, and fouled our Lennox ceramics. Fortunately several baths in vinegar and a wash in a competing product got the ceramics back to normal, but the plastic and rubber items are ruined. I've seen the other reviews and responses and we do not have a problem with temperature or water pressure, nor have we had a problem with the competing detergent now that we have switched, so this is a formula issue, and not one worth living with. P&G you should have tested this product more!

TERRIBLE!

So I buy a 110 pack "Cascade Extra Action" for the dishwasher. The first few times I used Cascade the dishes came out terrific! However now they have this dusgusting white film over everything! To the effect - I can't scrub, soak or magic eraser the white film off! I've tried vinegar, Power Degreaser, Kaboom with no results! Who has an address so I can send this junk back to the company! So incredibly disappointed! I've used so many types of Cascade before I thought this looked like a great alternative - everything in one packet! Sorry Cascade - Fail!

Don't buy the hype. Does not clean well at all.

These are just awful. I have a brand new fancy Whirlpool dishwasher and some of these Platinum ActionPac pods came with it. I already had some Cascade Total Clean pods (the green plastic container) on hand, so over the next week I thought this would be an interesting test of detergents. I alternated a total of four nearly identical loads, e.g. a Platinum Action Pac pod for 1 load, then Total Clean pod for the next load and so on. All dishes were very well-scraped and well-rinsed before loading, and dishwasher cycles were set to "heavy" four-hour cleaning cycles with "sani rinse" afterward, even though the dishwasher was never very heavily loaded and the dishes were not very dirty to begin with. You'd think everything would come out great right? Nope. Both loads with the Platinum pods came out disgusting. It didn't clean protein or starches at all (light residue on wet pet food dishes and cans, and light residue from rice on bowls and utensils) - even though, remember, everything was well-scraped and well-rinsed first. Almost everything in the Platinum ActionPac loads had to be rewashed by hand afterwards. Both loads with the cheaper Total Clean pods came out sparkling squeaky clean, every single dish, even the ones that had pet food and sticky rice residue. So I'll stick with the cheaper Total Clean pods and avoid this. As another reviewer said, the "Platinum Action" stuff is all hype and marketing. Just because it's more expensive doesn't mean it's better. Save your money and stick with the cheaper stuff that actually works.

Filmy residue

I have used the ActionPacs with dawn for about a year and have had good results. The last package I bought is a big disappointment. The pacs leave a filmy residue that has ruined my black plasticware (spoons, ladel, spatula, etc) as well as the handle on my knives and any other plastic that goes into the dishwasher. I don't know if they changed the formula, but something is wrong. I never had this problem before this package bought last month. I won't be buying this product again.

dishwasher destroyers

i am letting everybody know not to buy these cascade action packs. i bought a tub of them at my local store and had to stop using them. the little plastic pouch that holds the cleaning agent does not disolve completly and plugs the nozzles in the rotating spray bars.

best dishwasher detergent

I use this to not only get the cleanest dishes but also because it dissolves grease in the dishwasher thoroughly to prevent buildup not just in the machine but in my kitchen pipes. I once tried an eco friendly product for six months and I ended up having to call the plumber to unclog the kitchen pipes. He flat out told me it was grease. . I never pour grease down the drain. I realized that it was the Cascade Platinum that had kept the pipes grease free. I'll always use this product!

Spots and Film

Terrible product. Glasses spotted, film on everything. Complete waste of money as we have become frustrated with this product and tossed it out. We have tried "Finish" and are satisfied, but wish Cascade made a convenient tablet or pouch that actually worked as advertised.

huge issues with the cleaning power of this product. My pots and pans turned white and discolored, my glasses were milky and dirty looking, and my stainless looked nasty. although I was rinsing everything before placing in dw. Changed to another store brand detergent and all my dishes look like clean and sparkle. Whatever issue Cascade is having with their product, they need to find a solution. I have used and loved it for years but had to change because of the condition of my dishes."
