i love Cascade, but the Cascade with Gain is awful! After about 5 or so wash loads my plastic type containers (microwave cover, coffee cups) started tasting like Gain. I have thrown the remainder of the bag away and purchased a different bag of Cascade.

Ugh - this has left a film on my glasses and has discolored my pots amd pans bottoms and my baking sheets. I'm not sure about my dishes really, they look OK, but who knows. I have read about the white vinegar which you say should take care of the problem - but my question is - why make something that ruins so many people's dishes, glasses and pots and pans. I have used Cascade I think forever, but as convenient as these packets are they don't work very well.

This product has a serious flaw although it does a perfectly good job with cleaning. I bought a high-end dishwasher that requires this type of detergent and, disliking being told what to do, bought Cascade (have used the powder for many years) instead of the detergent recommended by the manufacturer. Very rapidly, plastic items (eg Rubbermaid lids or water bottles) developed a fragrant odor that profoundly affected the flavor of the food stored in the containers. I found some of my leftovers to be inedible due to the perfumed taste, not to mention that I like my water to taste like water. I bought the recommended detergent and the problem has disappeared. Sorry about that.

I switched from the detergent that worked well, by accident because they were all sold out, and since the last detergent I used didn't work adequately, I decided to Google which detergent is the effective, so I ended up with cascade platinum. It works terribly! I'm going back to the cheap palmolive lemon liquid detergent! I have photos.

My 18/10 cookware, silverware and clear plastic containers are all completely ruined. I tried washing them again after removing them from the dishwasher, but the stains appear to be permanent. I understand the need to remove the phosphates, but this is just wrong. I used to be proud of my cookware etc. Now I wash by hand the things I don't want ruined. I don't believe we have an hard water issue. I can say that I will no longer use this product. So sad after using Cascade for over 30 years.

We started using this product when we purchased a new dishwasher. I started to notice the bottom of my pans discoloring. I stopped putting them in the dishwasher. Then I noticed etching on my dishes and some emblems wearing off on mugs.. I have a collection. We quit using the product.

I have used cascade complete for years and love the product, but the new fragrance of lavender is unbelievably bad. It is so strong that the dishes smell for days. When trying to drink from a glass all you can smell is lavender before you can take a drink. Don't buy this particular scent unless you like your entire house perfumed. Waste of good money.

We have been using cascade complete action pacs for 3 years now and have never had a problem-no film, packs dissolve completely, dishes sparkling. The last 2 bags that I bought will NOT dissolve in the dishwasher. I open the dishwasher after the cycle is over and the pac is sitting on the bottom of the dishwashwer halfway dissolved with a powdery mess all over it. I have had to start cutting the plastic coating off and just putting the powder and gel stuff in. After I finish this bag, I will not be buying this product again.

Cascade complete leaves an odor & an aftertaste on the dishes. I have never used a dishwasher soap that has the same type of perfume like odor. This stuff not only smells, it does not clean as well as the other brand of tablet dishwasher soap I usually use. I purchased this product by mistake and since it was a week or so after purchase before it got used, I no longer had the grocery store receipt and could not take advantage of the money back guarantee.

If you only wash glassware, this product is great. But, don't put a fry pan in, even though it is "dishwasher safe". It will not be "Cascade safe". Two of my fry pans ended up with markings on the outside, like something ran down and took the coating off. I finally got rid of them because they looked so terrible and bought a new one. After just one washing it has a mark on the outside. Also, do not put cake pans in ... mine turned various shades of gray to dark gray to almost black. Was still usable but ugly. That was thrown away also. I am handicapped and can't stand at the sink and do fry pans, aluminum pans or things not glass. This is definitely not the product for me.
