[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So I do think this product works for joint pain and it applies easily and isn't great but I didn't rate it five stars because I have some concerns and issues with it. First I wish it worked for shoulders because that's honestly where I needed it the most but I have ankle issues as well so no problem. Opening it took way more effort than it should have. I realize it's a medicated ointment and I can appreciate that they need to keep it secure but this is medication for arthritic people and it was impossible for me to open without a tool and I don't even have arthritic hands. I think that is a design flaw to say the least. The product also requires a very specific amount of medication which I found difficult to determine if I was putting on the right amount. The other issue I have is the fact that you have to apply it four times a day honestly it's kind of inconvenient to try to remember four times a day. This also means I have to actually keep it in my purse instead of on a counter somewhere so I can make sure I'm applying it four times a day. Lastly there are a lot of warnings on here which is a little bit concerning if I'm being completely honest. There's a liver warning a stomach bleeding warning and a heart attack and stroke warning. I'm sure oral arthritis medications have the same warnings but I honestly just didn't expect it from a topical and it makes me nervous to use it because I would rather have an uncomfortable ankle than a heart attack or stroke personally. This is especially concerning for me given the aforementioned dosage issues and number of times a day it needs to be applied. Do I think it works, yeah I do. Do I think the benefits outweigh the risks at this point in time for me, no, but that of course is a personal decision everyone has to make based on their pain level - mine's tolerable.

It has a thin, silky texture that easily absorbs into the skin without leaving a film. A little goes a long way. It has a cooling sensation once applied to the skin. It is not immediate pain relief, but after several days of use, there is a difference in the pain scale. I would recommend this product.

It emphasizes that it's for arthritis pain only, and also says that it can not be used on more than 2 body parts. So you've got to make sure you're not confusing arthritis pain for a different ache or pain, otherwise you'll be wasting one of those 2 body parts. It can also take up to 7 days to work for arthritis pain. I decided I would rather just stick to my usual on contact relief that works for all my other aches and pains too.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’d say this product seems like it would work well. I applied it to my hands and it absorbed easily into my skin. It didn’t have a strong scent, which I liked. I used it a few times a day for a few days over the course of two weeks but didn’t really notice any changes. The main issue for me was the dosing. It instructs you to apply four times per day, using the dosing card, for up to 21 days. I found this to be too frequent and inconvenient for me.

Comes in a squeeze tube and is gel form, so no spills. It works very good for pain relief. I rate this a 10 highly recommended.

Followed directions precisely and it didn't work any better than Lidocaine roll-on (Aspercreme, SalonPas, etc.) which is less than half the price of Voltaren. Plus it stinks really bad after application.

I first heard of Voltaren as a recommendation from a coworker who does sports medicine but never tried it until now. Comparing this to the previous OTC products I've used, I can confidently say that Voltaren is on a whole different level than the others! Voltaren actually goes after the inflammation and makes a true difference in reducing pain and discomfort instead of just masking it. I am very impressed by how well it works so far. My mother in law also swears by this stuff and uses it regularly for her knee, and it literally changes her quality of life. As for effectiveness, this is a definite 10/10 when used correctly. However, this is not a simple "open and apply" product in my opinion. There are lots of restrictions on use due to being an NSAID (Diclofenac Sodium), and I would strongly recommend educating yourself on the proper use. This can be a really great product when used the right way. The scent is much more mild than other products, but the initial for me is almost a mixture of rubbing alcohol and a sort of floral/minty smell. The scent fades pretty quickly and is not overpowering like others, which is a huge plus. Overall, I am very impressed by the effectiveness of Voltaren. I would strongly encourage anybody who plans to use it to educate themselves on the proper use to make sure they use it safely and get the full benefits!
