A lifetime of satisfaction

I have been cooking, serving and eating Quaker grits for a long time, I am 72 years old and have enjoyed them my whole life. I like to bring them to a boil on the top of the stove, stir them well, cover them and let them simmer for about ten minutes, I like a little more water than called for and when they have the right consistency for a one cup of grits recipe I add about a third of a cup of cream, heavy whipping or half and half. This creates a miracle. The grits become whiter, creamier (I know I added cream), and an entirely different dish. Try it! You'll like it!

There's no better breakfast like a hot bowl of grits with egg and turkey sauce on the side. I like my grits with a spoon of added butter so yummy. A family classic for many many years. Even though the packaging says quick 5 mins I love to cook the grains down as long as possible I hate it to have a grainy taste.

I've been eating Quaker Grits since I was a child. My mother cooked them and now I cook them for my family. They are easy to prepare and I usually prepare them first to let them get nice a creamy. I typically eat grits every weekend. My family loves them and I do too.

Grit taste solved

I had the same issues as everyone else, but I decided to do some prombkem solving. I went and grab a 1qt pot boiled some more water to high temps and poured little at a time in side whisking like crazy. then I let it sit simmering for 7 min then taste and continue. I must admit I originally did 2 portions of grits. The 2 portions called for 2 cups of water but I used whole milk for the second cup. I think that caused for less liquid to be available in the pot to be absorbed. But I got it right by just adding boiling water little at a time then letting it simmer.

When making grits for the household, this is my go to canister. They are easy to measure and directions are easy to follow. I use these especially whwn making shrimp & grits. The whole canister is gone in 1 meal. We are a family of 7. Always easy to find in the breakfast aisle of most grocery stores.

My families favorite breakfast

This is my recipe for a quick breakfast. I make one half box of grits with 8 cups of water, salt, pepper and butter and cook in the microwave in a large bowl with a paper plate as the cover so that it does not bowl over. Cook for 15 minutes and the grits come out perfect.. Spoon a portion of grits into a bowl, add egg beaters, bacon, feta cheese and coby jack cheese and microwave for about 4 minutes. This is a great breakfast bowl. You can refridgerate the remain grits. The next morning just pull out the grits and make more breakfast bowls with your desired ingredients.

Good product, excellent price ...

Basically, they are Quaker Grits. I have found, in all my years shopping, I simply can't go wrong with any Quaker product. There are some Quaker products that I don't care for, not because of the quality, but, I simply do not like the taste, of the product. I have been shopping for almost 52 years and Quaker has rarely disappointed me. I prefer the 5 minute Grits and the price, per each, is a good savings. I shared this, with my daughter. My Hubby and I, simply could not eat 15 lbs. of Grits, but, one bag will last us, quite awhile.

Family Tradition

I have been cooking these grits for decades. This is the only brand I buy. My family loves them hot, but I have also made grits cakes with them for parties that were delicious. I use an old family spoon designated for grits and know exactly how much water with which to fill my pot for the amount needed. I've tried other brands unintentionally that take longer to cook than the 5-7 minutes. Never again.
