Another family favorite. I added raisins after the oatmeal is cooked, cover and let sit about 10 minutes. When put in a bowl with some milk, cinnamon and nutmeg. They not only taste good they are for you.

New formula of Old Fashioned Oats

I too am a VERY disappointed customer in the new formula used to make the “Quaker Oats 100% Whole Grain Rolled Oats, Old Fashioned” with the “CHEFSBEST” award of Excellence proudly displayed on the container. Ive read the official marketing statement regarding this complaint from PepsiCo parent company of Quaker Oats brand that the formula has not changed however as noted by many loyal customers including myself we cannot be fooled nor should we be told something we know isn’t truthful and be expected to accept it. I for one would like an explanation from PepsiCo/Quaker Oats as to what and or when we can expect the original formula to be available to us all. Without it you will lose my business and I suspect many others as we are all educated shoppers that want more for our hard earned money and our families.

What happened to Quaker Oats? Yuck!

I’ve been eating Quaker Oats over 50 years, making it 30+ years and I don’t know what has happened to it. It’s not the same. Whether cooking on the stove or microwave, using water or milk, the end result is oats (I hope) that are chewy and rubbery and barely any oatmeal to cover the bottom of a small bowl. The oatmeal isn’t light and fluffy like it used to be. Adjusting liquid amounts yields the same awful results. Cooking it more and letting it sit makes it tougher, drier and stickier. The oats don’t absorb liquid. Adding more liquid to soften the oats results in the same rubber balls, but in a pool of milk/water. These are not oats. Very sad and disappointing as this was a brand I trusted. Three brand new bulk boxes wasted.

Not very good for overnight oats.

These oats are not the same as the ones they carried. I use these for overnight oats and they are terrible. I used a 1:1 oats to milk ratio and it was like eating cereal the next day as they didn’t soak up any fluid. Next batch was a 0.5 :1 of milk to oats and they came out the same. For some reason these oats do not soak up and fluids.
