Delicious oatmeal

This is what I have for breakfast every day. i put it in a bowl, covr it wirh water, and cook it for 90 seconds in the microwave . I top it with fruit and milk. This makes a quick delicious meal. It also keeps in the box for years. So I keep a couple of extra boxes on hand.

Box slit on bottom

The oatmeal in itself I’m sure is good, but the box has a slit in it to where oatmeal was coming out. With it having a slit in it, I choose not to eat this particular one. I do not know how to get a picture on here . I took one but don’t know how to get it in here

    When it comes to

When it comes to oatmeal I just like plain oatmeal. Quaker is my favorite. They hold their shape. They are very affordable. I live the cardboard container. I can reuse them or I can us either for starting my outdoor fire pit. Buy these you will not be sorry.

Will be throwing away recently purchased huge box.

I've been make making these on the stovetop for years. I never thought twice about it. But this last box is terrible. I've tried cooking longer, tried letting them soak, but to no avail. They still seem undercooked, chewy, and the flavor is not the same. My grandson used to love "umpa's" oatmeal, now he prefers Malt-o-meal. What a waste of money.

    Old style oats

Never had oat before until recently, so I gave this a try. The instruction is to cook it on boiling water for 5 minutes, it came out like poridge. Note to self not too much of water next time since I like it thicker. I put some fruits in to make it more tasty. Otherwise without any topping it tastes bland. Im not a big fan of instant oatmeals because of their sugar level. This one at least I can control how much of sweetness to put in. Could be a healthy meal for someone in diet.

    I like old-fashioned oats.

I like old-fashioned oats. It's a big volume of oats. I make my oats flour and use it for baking. One of my favorite recipes is Italian biscotti with honey and nuts, figs. Cowboys cookies are wonderful too.it more healthy for you to use oats compare with bleach flour.

Why did Quaker remove portion prep?

Hello....I love oatmeal, and in particular old fashioned oats. I normally prep two servings, which Quaker has printed on the container and website. But every now and then I need to prep larger batches. I used to come to the website to find instructions on how to prep larger quantities, but those instructions are gone (or hidden on) from the website. What happened? Can I please have those instructions emailed to me if Quaker is no longer publishing them?

    I grew up eating

I grew up eating Quaker Oats. It tastes great. You can make it sweet or savory just like you would grits. I usually add flax and vanilla to the water before it boils. You can also add raisins, nuts or fresh fruit. I prefer to boil the raisins with the water. All other fruit and nuts I save for the finished product. I almost always add cinnamon too. Instead of milk and brown sugar I use pure maple syrup. The pure maple syrup adds another dimension of vitamins and nutrients and tastes great. If you want savory you can top with seasonings, cheese and cooked veggies. You could even add shrimp. Yum!

Wouldn't start my day without Quaker Oats!

We eat Quaker Oats, Old fashioned, almost every morning. Even if we eat breakfast out occasionally, I look forward to Quaker Oats the next morning. I call it Good Morning Oatmeal. I like the hardier taste of the old fashioned oats rather than the instant. I even love to spoon out the Quaker Oat goodness into my husband and my bowls in the morning. We feel good, too, about the health benefits of the nutritional value of Quaker Oats. We don't even get hungry again until several hours later.

    Poor quality and taste

Have used Quaker instant Oats, first thing every morning at work, for years. Now I will have to look for another brand of instant oats, as Quaker chose to make a change without telling the customer. The oats never thicken up, they remain like water, that's not what I expect.

    I love old fashioned

I love old fashioned oats. They are firmer/chewier than quick oats. You can food process them to make a nice oat flour to use in recipes. These fill you and fuel you up for the morning. Has a very hearty flavor, and I have been known to add syrup, fruit right to the pot for extra flavor.

In general I’m not a huge fan of oatmeal. But Quaker Oats really is the best. When I’m on a strict diet I eat this for breakfast with a tiny bit of half and half and 1 teaspoon of brown sugar and it really helps keep me full until lunch. I especially like it during the winter months. The good thing about oatmeal is that it’s incredibly easy to make and you can really do a lot with it. I use it to make my own granola and I also use for a lot of baked goods. Definitely recommend this to other people.

    Too much like Grits

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Trying the product for free thanks to Quaker! I totally like all other Quaker products but this one takes the grits. I like oatmeal but not in this chopped up (Steel Cut) version. Go back to regular Oats Please! Thanks

    This oatmeal product has

This oatmeal product has been a part of our breakfast for many years. It's great quality for the price. It's healthy and good on a cold day even for dinner. Once my granddaughters were old enough this oatmeal became part if their diet too. Other than as a great oatmeal, the oats are delicious for making oatmeal cookies.

    I find myself making

I find myself making this in the morning when I have extra time to cook it and it’s relatively on the healthier side, so I would eat it on the day I work out. Usually when making this I follow up with some cinnamon and other fruits such as strawberry and banana to give it more flavor.

    My family Heart Healthy Focus

My family is working towards being Heart Healthy first thing in the morning, by eating Quaker Oats. It is the best of kind of "comfort food" especially when we add food items that extend our enjoyment with the things we do individually do to enhance our tastebuds; I enjoy fruit, nuts, and added grains.

    Product infested with bugs

I prepared a bowl of oatmeal in the microwave two days ago and noticed brown spots that I thought were part of the product. Today I noticed brown bugs in the container crawling around. The product reads "Best before Oct 03 16 L142" on the bottom. Tried to file a complaint but system would not take my bar code number from the container. This product lot should be recalled.

I eat the Old Fashioned every morning and love it.

I am writing regarding the pull top. It should be redesigned. It is very difficult to try to pull the top off. When it finally does pull off everything pulls off the whole thing. Then every morning I have to push the plastic ring down all the way around the top of the box and then push the lid down. It's not good, A waste of time and frustrating to me every morning. Also, your Questions and Comments phone number 1-800-367-6287 is incorrect. I called to talk to a rep. regarding these problems and left a message. I received a call from another company saying Quaker Oats did not receive my message and that they get these calls all the time. You definitely have to do something about this problem. Then I tried to find another number on your webs...

    Love these oats. Great

Love these oats. Great for overnight breakfast like: oats, chia seeds, almond milk, yogurt and some fruits and berries. It’s really healthy, easy to prepare, oats become very soft and chewy. And it healthier to eat long cook oats instead of fast, cause your body spend more time to digest food, which means you are not hungry all the time

Nice To Have A Stockpile For Winter

When there is a hurricane or tornado and I go to the store none are ever on the shelf. I ordered two because I make oatmeal cookies for others and I love the oatmeal for breakfast. I was scared after purchasing and then reading the reviews. Mine arrived safely. No damage. I will be ordering more. Thank You.

    Cooking Instructions

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It would be helpful if you noted on your instructions how much to increase the liquid if you're cooking more than two servings. The oats doubled but the liquid increased by 3/4. Does it continue to increase by 3/4 for each additional serving?
