Delicious oatmeal

This is what I have for breakfast every day. i put it in a bowl, covr it wirh water, and cook it for 90 seconds in the microwave . I top it with fruit and milk. This makes a quick delicious meal. It also keeps in the box for years. So I keep a couple of extra boxes on hand.

Box slit on bottom

The oatmeal in itself I’m sure is good, but the box has a slit in it to where oatmeal was coming out. With it having a slit in it, I choose not to eat this particular one. I do not know how to get a picture on here . I took one but don’t know how to get it in here

Great nutritious snack for any time of day

Warm, filling, can add any fruit and nuts that you like to increase the hardiness and nutrition! The easy carry instant packages are low carb and with added milk, satisfying for breakfast or mid day snack. The smells of cinnamon and spice fill my office and wake up other people's hunger, and easy to share.

    Been eating this for decades

Something changed recently. The oats do not absorb water much anymore or become creamy. It cooks more like a soup now. I have been eating this for breakfast for decades and not I am not sure I like it anymore. I even tried putting them in Milk over night and it was still like soup. The creamy oats are gone. What did they do to the oats. Makes me wonder if they are not healthily anymore. Seems like they coated them in something to not allow the oats to absorb moisture. Also I tried baking oatmeal cookies. I had to change the recipe to make the cookies good. The oats are definitely not the same anymore. Before they changed I would have rated them a 5 star.

    Quaker Oats Winter Warm

Quaker Oats and Grits are the best way to ward off winter's chill; yet still a quick, delicious seasonal breakfast food too. One can add anything to a Quaker cereal and have a healthy, tasteful breakfast. My favorite to add is cinnamon and banana. It's so good. My mother served Quaker, I served Quaker; now that my family is grown, I still have Quaker for breakfast and often, a warm snack before bed that isn't heavy. What I like about Quaker most, is not only it's diversity but also it's lightness... and it's Americana. I have been to the Old Quaker Building in Akron,Ohio ( it's now a Holiday with and numerous, little shops), and just enjoyed going there so much with family and friends. Thank you. M

    I take these oats

I take these oats and mix them with vegan protein powder, and almond milk to make an overnight oat and they are amazing. 1 cup oats, 1 cup of almond milk, 1 scoop of protein powder, and OPTIONAL tbs of PB for more flavor. It makes about two or three days depending on how hungry I am and how hard the workout is.

    Not the same

I have been eating this Oatmeal since I was a kid. Always a breakfast favorite. No more! The oats never absorb the water, they are no longer creamy but soupy. The taste is awful, tastes soapy or like chemicals. Listen to all the other reviews stating the same things! Fix your product.

    Can't beat an original!

Old Fashioned Quaker Oats, besides being great tasting, is an easy to prepare, versatile product. It gives body to meatloaf, works as a topping for fruit desserts, works with flour or bread crumbs to make a crunchy coating, is wonderful hot with fruits and other toss-ins. Healthy, too!

    Good oats, horrible delivery service

Whole canister was completely crushed and oats were scattered all throughout the box. Who thought it would be a good idea to put a small canister of oats underneath two 20lb bags of rice? Why even box that together? Thanks for making me waste my money.

Great for both cooking and baking.

Quaker Oats Old Fashioned oatmeal is very easily adapts to both cooking and baking recipes. It add a lot of food value and does only good things for our bodies. For breakfast it can have a lot of things like fruit, berries, yogurt, grains, and seeds added to give even more of an impact for starting the day. We grind it in the food processor and use it in place of flour for some recipes.

I eat the Old Fashioned every morning and love it.

I am writing regarding the pull top. It should be redesigned. It is very difficult to try to pull the top off. When it finally does pull off everything pulls off the whole thing. Then every morning I have to push the plastic ring down all the way around the top of the box and then push the lid down. It's not good, A waste of time and frustrating to me every morning. Also, your Questions and Comments phone number 1-800-367-6287 is incorrect. I called to talk to a rep. regarding these problems and left a message. I received a call from another company saying Quaker Oats did not receive my message and that they get these calls all the time. You definitely have to do something about this problem. Then I tried to find another number on your webs...

I just really like Rolled oats.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been eating oatmeal since I was teenager and I never struggle with my weight.... But I like rolled oats particularly coz i like chewy and food that has a little character morethan just plain instant oats. But since I came to the states I hardly find rolled all i find in the supermarket is instant oatmeal....and I know you also have big pack like 10lbs where can buy that?... I hope to hear from you.

    When I have time

When I have time on the weekends I like a nice warm bowl of Quaker Oatmeal. I do not like instant oatmeal so, this is my go to when I have time to spend stirring the pot for the perfect bowl. If I’m crunched for time I go for the Quaker 1 minute oatmeal

I like it, but it seems like something has changed

I eat this oatmeal almost every morning, have for years, and will continue to do so. I like it. However, it has definitely changed in texture and taste. I used to cook it (not overcook) and it would retain large flakes and a taste that was unique. Now it has more of a "mushy" or pasty texture and definitely tastes different. Maybe my "old guy" taste buds are changing. Who knows.

Could not live without Old FASHIONED Quaker Oats.

My husband and I couldn't live without our daily oatmeal. We have it 6 days a week.I like to put it on simmer and cook for at least 15 mins. it gets creamy and oh so smooth.Nothing else in the cereal category like it.Only the Quaker brand will do. No substitutes for us. Thanks for a great product.

    Old fashioned oatmeal

I have been eating oatmeal for almost 50 years. I have always eaten the old fashioned type. I have been using a different brand for the last couple of years and decided to give Quaker another try. They are very chewy and don’t absorb the water when cooking. I’m not sure if this is a batch problem or a sourcing issue. Which by the way is not available, the label says distributed by Quaker but does not give where the crops are grown. I will be going back to the organically grown oatmeal I have been using and cannot see a good reason to try Quaker again with the lack of quality. I am disappointed and again having to rethink what I purchase and what I eat. Something has changed over the years with Quaker oatmeal.

    Great Food for Everyday!

One of the most versatile ingredients in my kitchen. We consume a great deal of Quaker Oats: breakfast, quick pick- up at lunch and occasionally a late night snack. It's as versatile as you make it, add nuts or honey, shredded coconut. I use it quite a bit in cooking for breads and of course for meatloaf. It's also a staple in cookies. The oatmeal cookie recipe inside the canister lid is awesome. I change that one up a bit sometimes, omit the raisins and cinnamon, and add dark chocolate. No weight issues or cholesterol issues in this house, and we enjoy eating, but substitute junk food with oatmeal and fresh fruit. Just dress it up!

There has DEFINATELY been a change.

There has definitely been a change! The rolled oats are no longer "rolled" as they had been in the past. I have noted these changes have occurred since PESICO bought Quaker. My guess: 1 - they sold off the manufacturing plants and contract buy the product, hence little to no control over the product. or 2 - they have changed the processing to reduce mfg cost and improve profits. I no longer purchase Quaker oats.

    My favorite

I am 81 years old and have prepared this product all my life, adding brown sugar or honey, dried or fresh fruits and spices for variety. My family loved it and I felt I was giving them a healthy start for their day. I still prepare this once or twice a week for my husband and I. Healthy meals are still very important to us as age brings more health challenges.
