Not like 1 minute oats!

Ok these take awhile to cook, are not as soft and creamy as Quick 1-minute oats. Although they will bring you back to the olden days, back when you were a child eating oats! Microwave cooking: I DO NOT RECCOMEND 1 CUP OF WATER OR MILK unless you let it sit for 30 min then cook it. It makes a soup that takes a long time to cook down. If you use 1/2 cup oats 1/2 to 3/4 cup milk then cook it 2.5 to 3 min as suggested it does better. Still needs to sit some to combine oats and liquid.

I have this container at work for a quick and healthy breakfast. Oats are super filling and good fuel for the day. I will say, the big container of oats are unflavored and can be bland if made with only water. I like to add in vanilla soy milk + peanut butter + banana to make a really yummy, flavorful breakfast.

Bad Old Fashioned Oatmeal

What has happened to Quaker Old Fashioned oatmeal. Noticed a few months ago that the texture was thick, says to cook in 31/2 min, well that doesn’t work, had to cook for about 10 min and still wasn’t right, Al’s, the taste is bad. Well, I won’t be buying this product anymore. Threw away 2 large 42 oz boxes to the birds, hope they don’t get sick.

I hope to live to 100.

I have Old Fashioned Quaker Oats for breakfast almost every morning for many years and I feel Great! I sprinkle cinnamon on top aftermit is cooked, then smother it with blueberries and top it off with a few globs of yogurt. My tummy is happy, I'm happy and am ready to take on anything that happens the rest of the day.

Disappointed

I just tried the new container of oatmeal I recently purchased. They were so difficult to eat after trying to cook them as the instructions called for they we’re not soft like the ones I have eaten for over 50years it’s a shame you changed the product this way. You are losing me as a customer unless you improve the product

Not the same oats

I hate to write this but the product has changed. I thought I was losing my mind or maybe I needed a new microwave but I see now that I'm not the only one. The oats do not cook all the way through regardless of how long I cook in the microwave. I've doubled the cooking time, stirred them half way through, switched from cool water to hot water for cooking and nothing works. The oats remain hard, chewy and uncooked. I can't continue to buy them if the product is defective, it's a waste of money. I have to find another brand to purchase.

Oatmeal in -- AM NOON and PM!

The BEST! 5 minute oatmeal lovinglly made for breakfast, home made granola with good stuff like oats, honey, maple syrup, almonds, walnuts, raisins and more sprinkled on top. Home made raisin oatmeal cookies for an afternoon snack. Loose granola for a pm snack sprinkled in yogurt. Acutally lowered my cholesterol by eating alllll this oatmeal. If I could bake bread (can't seem to do that) I would be eating homemade oatmeal bread!!! Thanks for a great product.

I love old fashioned

I love old fashioned oats. They are firmer/chewier than quick oats. You can food process them to make a nice oat flour to use in recipes. These fill you and fuel you up for the morning. Has a very hearty flavor, and I have been known to add syrup, fruit right to the pot for extra flavor.

Will be throwing away recently purchased huge box.

I've been make making these on the stovetop for years. I never thought twice about it. But this last box is terrible. I've tried cooking longer, tried letting them soak, but to no avail. They still seem undercooked, chewy, and the flavor is not the same. My grandson used to love "umpa's" oatmeal, now he prefers Malt-o-meal. What a waste of money.

Recommended for Diabetic Diets with protein

I enjoyed eating Quaker Oats every morning. Then I got diabetes and my Dr. told me to stop. I just read an article that oats are good for diabetics for breakfast as long as they are coupled with protein! Yay! I am now eating Quaker Oats along with a boiled egg and I am very happy!
