The changed product

A few years ago I bought the usual Old Fashioned Oats and it was different. No flavor, texture more like pieces of paper cooked. Recently I bought a new box--surely it will be better. Well, it isn't--I cooked it for the recommended 5 minutes and it still tasted like pieces of cooked paper. Quaker oats--don't say you haven't changed it because you have and it is inedible! It has also ruined my oatmeal cookie recipe that I've made for 50 years. I've also stopped using your quick cook as it's texture and taste is horrible also.

Bad Old Fashioned Oatmeal

What has happened to Quaker Old Fashioned oatmeal. Noticed a few months ago that the texture was thick, says to cook in 31/2 min, well that doesn’t work, had to cook for about 10 min and still wasn’t right, Al’s, the taste is bad. Well, I won’t be buying this product anymore. Threw away 2 large 42 oz boxes to the birds, hope they don’t get sick.

I’ve been eating Quaker oats since I was a child. They are a reliable, filling and healthy breakfast. I put them in pancakes, and sometimes mix them with fruit and almond milk to leave in the fridge overnight for breakfast in the morning. My mother used to mix them with meatballs when she made pasta instead of breadcrumbs.

Something changed

The most recent package does not cook up the way previous ones did. After 6 minutes on the stove top on medium, the oats are still a little hard and have not fully absorbed the liquid. I see many other reviewers are having this issue as well. I hope this is a temporary issue and not a permanent change.

This is my go to oatmeal product I don't even consider any other brands I've been eating this since I was a kid and it works for me, it does take sometime to Cook depending on the style that you get but it's totally worth it and extra delicious when made with milk. If you've never tried this product I highly recommend getting a small container and trying. If you can recommend something better please feel free to reach out as I would love to try something new.

good value

This is a good value in this big size. The Quaker Brand is the best especially when used as a hot cereal, the generics are maybe OK for cooking or a filler for meatloaf etc. After it is opened I find it keeps better if I put it in a tupperware-type container or a heavy zip lock bag.

I love this product!

I mostly have Quaker Oats for a breakfast meal. I add fruit before popping it into the microwave. This gives me a balanced meal. Recently having had a cardiac issues and therefore needing a low salt balanced diet I belief Quaker Oats provides an opportunity toward my goal of a heat healthy diet.

Quaker Oats Winter Warm

Quaker Oats and Grits are the best way to ward off winter's chill; yet still a quick, delicious seasonal breakfast food too. One can add anything to a Quaker cereal and have a healthy, tasteful breakfast. My favorite to add is cinnamon and banana. It's so good. My mother served Quaker, I served Quaker; now that my family is grown, I still have Quaker for breakfast and often, a warm snack before bed that isn't heavy. What I like about Quaker most, is not only it's diversity but also it's lightness... and it's Americana. I have been to the Old Quaker Building in Akron,Ohio ( it's now a Holiday with and numerous, little shops), and just enjoyed going there so much with family and friends. Thank you. M

We love Quaker oatmeal in my house. Perfect for a cold winter day or a yummy snack at night, I love this healthy alternative. Alone or with fruit, Quaker Oats are a staple in my house. They are an inexpensive and quick breakfast. I recommend this product and will definitely repurchase it.

"Rediscovered" oatmeat at age 60!

I have been looking for healthy ways to get fiber and "beta glucans" into my diet. Regular oats - more so than quick oats - were highly recommended. Quaker has been the oatmeal standard since childhood, so I looked at a box of Old Fashioned Oats at the store a couple of weeks ago. When I saw they could be cooked in the microwave, I was SOLD. They were so naturally delicious that I didn't even need to add butter and sugar, like Mom used to do to get us to eat oatmeal as kids. There are now 4 1/2 boxes in my cupboard!
