Good Oatmeal - Poor packaging (bottom)

Bottom of the container is sealed poorly and the contents can easily spill out. Quaker need to improve the sealing of the bottom of container or provide a 2nd lid that fits the bottom. The product itself is good but so very disappointing to see the contents spilled out in the shipping container or after the container has been opened.

Corn-contamination in the cardboard container?

With all of my allergies (corn, soy, yeast, etc.), I am very limited as to what I can eat. After skin-scratch testing, I am NOT allergic to oats; however, I get a corn-type reaction after eating Quaker's Old-Fashioned Rolled Oats. I do know that corn can be in almost everything, included paper and cardboard. I can only assume that the possible corn contamination is coming from the packaging. Can you recommend anywhere that I can purchase pure rolled oats? If I provide my own glass container, may I purchase the pure oats from your company?

I usually blend these

I usually blend these into almost powder since they are old fashioned and take a bit longer to cook. I add a little milk while they boil, and swirl in some brown sugar and cinnamon. They are delicious and a healthy breakfast. I also use them as whole oats and mix it with milk and bake it them to make oatmeal bars. They taste great with some fruit baked in and travel nicely since they are baked in a pan and cut into bars.

What changed?

I just bought a new package of Quaker Oats Old Fashioned oatmeal and it doesn't cook like it use to?? I've been eating this for years and just recently had this problem. I almost had someone out to look at my microwave but thankfully saw the same issues with others.

If you want to eat healthily this is something to incorporate in your diet. Poor some boil water over the dry oats and some milk or almond milk and brown sugar is pretty good. Also it makes pretty good smoothies. For smoothies, add some fruits, milk (almond milk) , and some type of sweetener. I love old fashioned oats because it helps to lower your cholesterol, good vitamins and a way to loose weight.

Perfect Breakfast

Living in a cold climate, having a hot bowl of oatmeal in the morning is the only way I can start my day. I love that I can customize what I mix in, be it fruit or nuts and I can control the amount of sugar. Knowing that it's heart healthy and can help lower my cholesterol is a great bonus too. Besides... it just tastes good!

Love making over night

Love making over night oats and oatmeal cookies with this brand. I have tried store brands and they sometimes have a cardboard taste so we always but the Quaker brand. They're are fairly priced and super yummy however you make them or whatever you add to them! ☺️

These are some versatile

These are some versatile oats. You can cook them and make traditional oatmeal, you can grind them up and make oat flour to substitute for those people needing to be gluten-free, you can make overnight oats with them, you can make granola with them. The possibilities are endless. And the price is right too.

Why has it changed?

We have been buying Quaker old fashioned oats for many years now. My daughter recommended Red Mill oats before but I liked Quaker just as much then. But Quaker old fashioned oatmeal has changed. It doesn`t cook the same. It has a different texture. The pieces of oats are finer and it tastes pasty, like it has flour in it. The first box I bought like that I just thought it was that one box maybe. But it has been box after box.Quaker has changed something. I am no longer pleased with the product. I will be switching brands. I may have to pay a little more but I don`t like this as much as I used to. I'm sure the change was motivated by the economy. And I don`t blame them for trying to save money but unless they change back, I am switching. If they change back I will still buy it, even if the amount in the box is smaller but the price is the same.

Not the same

I have been eating this Oatmeal since I was a kid. Always a breakfast favorite. No more! The oats never absorb the water, they are no longer creamy but soupy. The taste is awful, tastes soapy or like chemicals. Listen to all the other reviews stating the same things! Fix your product.
