For as lean as it was supposed to be, it seemed to have a lot of fat when I cooked it up. It was not like other 90% lean burger I've had. Hopefully, they aren't cheating. It certainly wasn't as much fat as 80% lean would have been, but usually 90% has almost no juice left when you slow-brown it.

We go through one of these a week, in my household. The price of beef was hitting our wallets hard, especially when it’s 90/10. But here comes Sam’s Club for the win again. Thanks to the sheer size, and price, we have stuck with buying this from Sam’s Club for years now.

We typically purchase a 9 lb. package every couple of months and form 1/4 lb. patties that go in the freezer. This gives us flexibility for burgers or using several for ground beef recipes. Flavor is exceptional and the 90% lean results in less waste and healthier eating.

I use this hamburger for jerky. It comes from the dehydrator looking and tasting like Slim Jims. I then cut it to desired lengths and vacuum seal it. I keep it in the freezer until needed, usually Thanksgiving, Christmas, or just family gatherings. Everyone really likes it that way.

THIS IS THE 4TH ROLL THAT I HAVE BOUGHT OF THE 90% LEAN 10% FAT GROUND BEEF. I PUT ABOUT A 6 INCH LONG CHUNK OF GROUND BEEF IN A SKILLET. PUT ON SALT AND PEPPER AND BROWN WHEN IT DONE YOU HAVE NO GREASE. I COOK ALL OF THE GROUND BEEF AND PUT IT IN THE FREEZER AND USE AS NEEDED. IT HAS A DELICIOUS FLAVOR ALSO YOU COULD MAKE HAMBURGER PATTIES AND FREEZES.

I get this often and it is usually great. Unfortunately every once in a while I will get large chunks of fat throughout the "log of ground beef". It is not always visible until we portion out the meat for the freezer. This is a 1 in 20 occurrence, but still upsetting.

While being in Pensacola Florida which is 40 miles further than my local Sam's club I checked to see if they still stocked sausage that my local Daphne Sam's club stopped stocking or was always out of. Pensacola store still stocked it, so to make my trip worth it and pay for the gas I also bought one tube of the 90%lean / 10% fat groud beef while I was there. The 90% lean did in fact cook up with less grease than the 80% lean. The money I save on taxes on the food along paided for the gas.

Something has changed with this 90/10 hamburger meat and I’m not sure if they have added tendons or what, but every other bite has some really chewy piece that is not only an unwelcome texture, but also makes me not longer want to buy this! Stop skimping on quality to make weight!

This is the 90/10 leanest I can find. On occasion I can find 93/7. I try to always get lean meats. Use this in casseroles, or any ground beef recipe. When I take a dish to a potluck dinner, I always get asked why mine taste better than theirs. I always ask how lean their meat is which is usually 80/20.

A great price. Cheaper than other stores. Hardly any grease in it. Will be buying more.
