Value, but you get what you pay for

While we love the affordability, the last couple of times we've purchased this, there has been a lot of gristle in it. We may have to find another place to buy.

GREAT Flavor!!

Great flavor. Great consistency, didn't fall apart when cooking it. I wanted to leave a message and tell you how wonderful tasting this 90% lean ground beef was and we will be buying more. Thanks!!

Will not purchase again

We were not pleased with the meat. Made some burgers before I froze the rest. Burgers were very chewy, gritty and dry, & pan was full of fat. For the price I would have expected better quality!

Buyers Beware

I will no longer buy the ground beef here, it’s full of tendons, veins, skin, bone and gristle. No flavor and is not what I thought I was paying for! Sam’s club should be ashamed for selling such a low quality product.

Can't believe it's gone bad in the store!

I bought a chub Tuesday afternoon, transported it in a cold bag straight into my back up fridge, that stays closed. I went to cook it the following day, and the smell was foul! Good by date is 4 days away.

Great Product

With the price of 90/10 ground beef hovering around $5.00/lb in local grocery stores, this is a great value. The quality is great also. If you are going to grill burgers with it, it might not contain as much fat as you would like.

Quality has went down

This used to be a great deal but I do not believe this is 90/10 anymore. Much more fat and also more gristle type stuff in it. I'm very unhappy about this.

Lots of byproduct added to make up weight

This was the nastiest ground beef I have ever bought. 90/10. Yes there was not a lot of grease but they replaced the fat with all sorts of nasty by products. A lot of grussel and what looked like arteries. I know that's normal but the amount of the arteries pieces in the cooked meat freaked everyone out. I would not buy this product again.

Rocks in the meat? Or is it bones?

I have exclusively bought ground beef at Sam's for the past 20 years. Recently I am finding that the ground beef has what feels like tiny rocks in it! They are tiny white rocks. I am assuming these are bones, which is terrible. Sams, please do better.

Quality changed at the end of October 2025

Buyer beware. I have been buying this ground beef for a while now. It's one of the main reasons I joined Sams Club. Months ago, the price was 4.98 lb then out of the blue, the price was increased to 5.72 lb. I still bought it because of the quality, it was still very reasonably priced. On Oct 19th, they canceled the 2 packs I ordered. On Oct 20th I tried ordering again thinking it was a fluke but again, it was canceled. I called my club in Melbourne Fl and was told that they were indeed out of stock. On October 23rd, I ordered it again and noticed that the price had dropped from 5.72lb to 5.22lb. I was tickled pink until I received the meat. I noticed it looked more like 80% than 90%. I confirmed that this time out, what Sam's is selling as 90/10 is more like 80/20 if that. The amount of grease it gave out when I fried the hamburgers was quite large. Here is my take on what happened...Sams switched suppliers hence the interruption in the availability and went with a cheaper supplier. The result is that while we may be getting a break on the price, the quality has gone done incredibly and selling this fatty meat as 90/10 is deceptive. I'm going to speak with Sams customer service about this and encourage you to do the same. If you're doing a barbecue, this meat will do but if you're frying it indoors or cooking indoors with it, prepare yourself for a fat fest.
