Very pleased with my Aiden

Have had for several weeks now and am quite happy. I find it easy to use, the app is a very nice feature, and I get a very good cup of coffee. Others have reported concerns with the carafe not holding temperature-I have not found this to be an issue. I do get a small amount of spill when I pour, but this is a very minor problem

Great machine

We love the coffee maker. Before buying this my wife used a pour over and I used a cheap drip coffee maker. We did blind taste tests and in both cases preferred the Aiden. It's amazing the difference it makes. Such a smooth cup of coffee. It's expensive but now we have eliminated the need for two different brewing methods.

Aiden rocks!!

I bought this after yet another disaster with my Moccamaster where I didn't have the basket in exactly right and ended up with coffee all over my counter. I absolutely love my Aiden! I have used both the scheduled and instant brew options and have been happy with both. It's wonderful to come downstairs in the morning, see the rainbow ready light, and smell the fresh brewed coffee! I wish I would have grabbed one sooner!

Tremendous Brew -- Easy to Use!

Happy with this purchase -- same quality you expect from other Fellow products. Very thoughtful and does what it says it does. I must say the extraction levels will knock your socks off if you're used to using mr coffee or ninja. Ease into it! Haven't tried the app, but don't really need it. Only product improvement feedback would be to make it bigger, as the 10 "cups" for a full carafe are based on 5 oz portions, so it's really only 4-5 mugs. A 12 cup/60oz version would be more suitable for large groups and make it comparable to regular coffee makers.

Would recommend

The Aiden is easy to use and offers a wide range of options for how many cups, which is a welcome change to a drip machine. While I do appreciate that there's no heater to burn the coffee, in this cold weather I am finding the need to pre heat the carafe to avoid the coffee cooling quickly. Love the color and ease of use!

Too much plastic, need metal filter option

A gift for my husband, and he says it makes fantastic coffee! Unfortunately a major disappointment for us is that Fellow has used so much plastic that the hot water and coffee comes into contact with. We try to minimize the amount of plastic that comes into contact with our food. We would love if Fellow would give a metal filter option rather than having to put a paper filter over the plastic. A coffee maker this expensive should have this option. We just swapped from the Ratio to the Aiden, and the Ratio does give this option for a metal filter. This lack of option is a major drawback, and had I realized beforehand I probably would have chosen something else.

3mo review: Almost a great coffee single-cup brewer, but batch mode has a killer flaw and there are too many questionable Gen 1 decisions

I preordered in the first week and have used the machine almost daily since September. I really want to love it, and feel that a future Gen 2 product is going to be amazing. Fellow is just a few design fixes away from perfection. Let's get the good out of the way... it makes a great single-cup of coffee that is nearly indistinguishable from my pour overs. The engineering and precise control of the water temp and flow rate are phenomenal. From a couple of meters away, it looks great next to my Ode Gen 2 grinder. While the app is still buggy, I prefer to control the machine via the knob and that works well. The list of downsides just makes me feel like a beta tester... (1) The carafe and lid are so badly insulated that batch mode should not be advertised as a feature. This is a hard fail. Even if I prewarm with hot water in a house with 70F+ air temperature, the temp gets tepid within 20 minutes. Instead, I brew multiple single cups or use my trusty Cuisinart automatic drip maker when there are guests. I would love to test a Gen 2 carafe if it becomes available... (2) I cannot keep coffee warmer for longer by using my own carafe or larger insulated container. The area below the basket is too short for even a regular sized travel mug. (3) So much plastic! My wife immediately wanted to send it back. I can somewhat tolerate the cheap feel and looks, but the use of black plastic in direct contact with hot liquid is inexcusable due to the known health risks (no, food grade black plastic is not safe). The brew basket and chamber are all black plastic. The silicon seal that prevents steam from hurting your cabinets is a great design feature, but inadvertently means that you are condensing hot steam on the interior plastic that then drips into the basket. Yuck. (4) Cold brew doesn't work due to a software problem. I've been waiting for a firmware release that fixes it. (5) The basket design needs work to solve the post-brew drip problem. Forcing the user to wait 1 minute in a final drip phase for only 10-15 drops is not a solution. And, why does water leak out when you open the lid and the condensed water stuck on the silicon seal drips down? (trick: keep a random cup underneath when you aren't using the machine) (6) Why oh why does the app require me to give it my phone's location data, then complain when I disable the privacy permission? The Aiden software apparently wants to adjust to your location's altitude, but this can be done in other ways without invading privacy. So, no effective batch brew, health risks with black plastic, buggy software, and annoying drip problems. But, it makes a great single cup of coffee that saves me 5 minutes versus a manual pour.

Fellow Aiden Coffee Machine

The Fellow Aiden is easily the best coffee machine I've ever owned. It completely transformed my coffee experience! No more bitter or burnt flavors, just consistently smooth, great-tasting coffee. Huge credit to Fellow for creating such an exceptional machine. Thanks for making coffee great again!!

Worth it

There's a lot of great options for coffee makers out there, but if I'm being honest, I wanted something that could get the job done and look good doing it. The Aiden checks both of those boxes. If you've been researching this product and checking out the YouTube reviews, then you'll know there is a common criticism about the build quality of the hinges. In my experience, this product seems in line with the quality of other Fellow products. I think what stands out is this is one that has you interact with different parts unlike some that just have one part that you move. I think most people won't mind the product of this quality. The coffee tastes great, and the cold brew function is a cool touch. I was a bit reluctant to use the app since it felt a bit redundant seeing that you can make and edit profiles from the machine itself, but I must admit that I have caught myself using it and appreciating the simplicity of using my phone to make these changes. Getting the firmware updates is easy, and there's been very few frustrations with the whole experience since getting it. On a cleaning note, you do gotta wipe the shower head and keep the basket area dry after a brew. It doesn't really clean itself or drain into the empty carafe. However, I think part of having nice things and keeping them nice is maintenance, so it's not that big of a deal. TL;DR: It brews good and looks good. Read the manuals.

Good Single Cup/Small Batch Brewer

I'll start off by saying in terms of a single-cup automatic brewer, this is the best I've ever used. The guided brew function makes it easy to ensure you're using the right amount of coffee for optimal output. That said, when it comes to larger batch brewing, that's where I've encountered problems. The amount of ground coffee per the guided brew function for larger batches can exceed the capacity of the basket, causing grounds to overflow the filter and make contact with the shower head. I'm using a Fellow Opus to grind at recommended settings for drip, but it would be nice if I could specify that in the configuration to have grind settings included in the guided brewing process. With so much plastic, I was concerned about build quality, but everything seems solid and built to acceptable tolerances. The carafe does a good job of holding the coffee at a good temperature without the use of a heating element that can cause undesirable effects on the brewed coffee. Overall, I am happy with my purchase, but I think there's definitely room for improvement in a second generation model.
