I received this tuna from the Stellar Product Testing Panel and am now only going to buy this brand. I used it for a simple tunafish sandwich and the texture and taste were amazing. It tastes fresh, not oily or greasy. Texture is flaky and not mushy. The price is high compared to other tuna but once you try it, you'll understand why.

The Rio Mare Solid Light Wild Tuna in Olive Oil was by far the best canned tuna I have ever had. It was very light and flakey. It tasted incredibly fresh. I had a couple bites directly and then used the rest in a salad. The texture was excellent. I appreciated that it was not too oily and that it did not have a strong fishy taste or smell to it (two things I am very particular about). It is certainly more than I would typically spend on canned tuna, but it was definitely worth it and I would for sure pay the price in the future!

It had the right amount of olive oil added in, making it creamy while remaining flaky. I used it in a simple meal; mixed it in with rice and kewpie mayo and scooped it with seaweed. Simple but yummy and the tuna was able to shine through. Although I did enjoy the tuna, I'm not sure i would purchase in the future solely because of the price. I'm not a big enough fan of tuna to justify the price - the cans feel too small for that.
