I've eaten canned tuna before, usually on a salad, and sometimes mixed into a sandwich, so I was open to trying a new brand. I like the fact that it is perfectly portioned, and that it was lightly bathed in olive oil. The olive oil is a great touch, and the tuna separated nicely, and was not too dense, not dry and not mushy. The flavor was great, not fishy tasting and my husband loved it too!

I thought it was a good tasting tuna in a good amount of olive oil- neither too dry nor overwhelmed by oil. I made a tuna salad that was enjoyed by my 4 year old and spouse, everyone liked it! The texture (nicely flakey) held up well to being mixed with other ingredients, and leftovers stayed firm and not too pungent. When I find this brand in the store I will purchase again.

The flavor was so delicious and not fishy at all. The olive oil helps keep the fish from drying out so it has a pleasantly rich texture. I used this tuna to make Kimchi Tuna Salad. I've made this recipe several times with other tuna but this turned out the best. This tuna doesn't have a fishy flavor so the flavor of the other ingredients can really come forward. I will be looking for this tuna at my grocery store. I think the quality of the tuna is well worth the price. As a pescatarian I eat tuna several times as week as my source of protein. This tuna makes any recipe rich, hearty and delicious. It takes your meal to the next level. I have been craving it ever since I tried it!

I’m also more interested in quality over price when it comes to food. The Rio Mare Solid Light Wild Tuna in Olive Oil is very good tasting. I’d never seen this brand before in stores, but I’ll definitely be looking harder in the future. I love that it is so flavorful and smooth. The olive oil Coating really sets this apart. I also liked that opening it doesn’t fill the room with fish smell — it’s more of a muted smell, but that doesn’t take away from the flavor. I decided to mix my tuna with barbecue sauce and put it in a taco, and boy was it delicious. The texture is really smooth and easy to spread because of the olive oil. When I have had water based tuna, the tuna usually gets smooshy and harder to mix with a good consistency. I really like mixing it with mayo, avocado, vegetables, and lime juice and it was able to be a great snack and a small meal. I really think that the price is equivalent the the product based on the fact of the taste, quality, and texture. The mild fishy flavor was what stood out most to me about this tuna because it mixed very well.

The salmon was smooth and didnt have an icky fishy after taste after finishing it. The can is also just the just size ro fill me up! I added this salmon to some crackers which was the perfect snack. Definitely has a more luxurious taste than run-of-the-mill water-based canned tuna which can taste diluted and bland. I put it on saltine crackers as an afternoon snack for me and my toddler but honestly, it would have been just as enjoyable straight from the can.
