[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Rio Mare is by far the highest quality canned tuna I have ever tried. Even from opening it, you can tell that they only pick good-quality fish and good-quality olive oil. When you break into it with a fork it flakes beautifully just like freshly-cooked fillets do. It was a really pleasant, minimally-fishy-tasting protein for my spinach salads. Each can is a bit smaller than I’m used to, but with far better chunks as opposed to a more shredded texture. You definitely pay for quality with Rio Mare. Overall, I’m impressed by the flavor and quality of the tuna itself. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this Rio Mare Solid Light Wild Tuna in Olive Oil product from the Stellar Product Testing Panel. I was pleasantly surprised at the appearance, texture, and taste of this tuna product. The Wild Tuna is perfectly moist and I found no need to drain the tuna prior to use, as there was not excessive oil like there usually is with most cans of tuna in water. The taste was pleasant as well; good taste without that foul fishy taste and smell of many other tuna brands. I used the provided sample of the Rio Mare Solid Light Wild Tuna in Olive Oil to make a tuna noodle casserole and it turned out great! My husband, who is not typically a fan of tuna, ate it without question. While this particular tuna does have a much higher price point than most other tunas on the shelf, I value good quality food products for my family, and appreciate the lack of preservatives and only 3 quality ingredients in this product. Thus, while I couldn't pay this price frequently for a small can of tuna, we don't use tuna on a weekly basis, and thus, I would buy this Wild Tuna when I had tuna noodle casserole on the menu. The moisture/texture of the tuna, its taste, and the absence of chemicals and other undesirable preservatives in this Rio Mare brand of tuna stands out to me the most.

It was delicious right out of the can, but I also had it as tuna salad with mayo, as well as in a tuna melt. The texture and consistency was great and not too much liquid, but enough to keep it moist. The flavor was great. I also thought the packaging was really nice and pleasant to the eye.

I was given this canned tuna product to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel and while I’d love to be able to say that I personally enjoyed it, but my husband ate it as soon as it arrived and I don’t have any photos to share because of that. With that being said, my husband loves tuna! He eats it all the time and was especially excited to have this tuna in olive oil. He ate it straight out of the can, no crackers, nothing and said he’s sold! He loved it! He said it was very moist, the texture was smooth and had great flavor. While Rio Mare tuna in olive oil is pricier than other tunas, it’s worth the price for a special treat. Even though it was a huge hit in our house, it wouldn’t be our every day tuna because it’s more expensive for our family of 6, but if it’s ever offered in bulk at a slightly more affordable price, we’d be all over it! Try this tuna, you won’t be disappointed.

The wild tuna tasted delicious whether if it was with freshly cooked rice or in a tuna sandwich. It is lightly salted and semi-moist in olive oil, which doesn't feel greasy at all compared to regular vegetable oil. It's a small can, portioned for one person but it's exactly how I expected a great can of tuna would taste. I love how it's not too dried out and I can really taste the traditional tuna flavor. I would definitely get this again.

Made tuna salad sandwiches and barely used any mayonnaise in the salad at all but the result was still moist and flavorful (probably thanks to the olive oil). This is a great tuna to choose if you want tuna to shine. While it is a bit more expensive than other tuna products, the quality is worth it for special meals. I loved how large the tuna pieces were, not mealy at all like some canned tuna can be. This will be the tuna I choose for tuna-forward meals.

The flavor of the tuna is really good, it tasted "clean" and "delicate" compared to some other canned tunas if that makes sense. Had a good texture. Even the olive oil tasted good. We made it into a tuna casserole and it was delicious! It's pricier than the average can of tuna, but similar in price to what I pay for other brands of canned tuna because I'm picky and go for quality.

It was the perfect amount of tuna for a serving. I didn't feel overly stuffed and I wasn't hungry after! I love that it's wild caught tuna instead of farm raised and I love that it was lightly drizzled in olive oil! It also states that there's no need to drain it which makes prepping a meal so much easier. When you open the can you're not hit with a big fishy smell, but it's light and flavorful. Highly recommend to anyone who loves tuna!
