I usually by Tuna packed in water but I loved this brand and was able to strain most of the oil out. It tasted great and I used less mayo to mix in for a sandwich. Good quality product and very flavorful.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was pleasantly surprised when I tried this tuna. I wasn't expecting anything earth shattering but I may now just be a total brand convert. The flavour was delicate, the texture light and chunky but flaky and the olive oil tasted rich and premium. The quantity of oil was absolutely perfect, the claim of ‘no need to drain' stood true, and I could have easily stood there and scoffed the whole can after trying just one bite. There was no overwhelming fishiness and the flavour profile erred on the sweeter side- this tuna certainly requires no heavy dressing up or disguising. I chose to make a quick and hearty fried rice tuna dish, and the oil totally leant itself to this meal. It tasted wonderful, and I kept it more simple than usual so I could really taste the tuna and not have it drowned out by too many other flavours or strong dressings. While yes, this tuna skews to the higher price point I think it is completely justified in that. It was some of the nicest tasting canned tuna I've ever eaten (and I've eaten a lot of it). I particularly loved that it wasn't absolutely swimming in oil, which can be so off putting and sickly. The consistency was substantial, not shredded and mushy, and the colour pink and fresh looking. As a European I appreciate the higher quality of standards in fishing practices and production compared to US counterparts. I would rather pay more for a significantly higher quality product, and this tuna is no exception to that. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This tuna tastes luxurious, but it's only a small splurge! I have tried other Italian style tuna and really enjoy them. What makes them different from your run of the mill canned tuna is they use high-quality fish that is marinated in olive oil for an extended amount of time. The Rio Mare Solid Light Wild Tuna in Olive Oil was not very dense, with a texture that almost melts in your mouth. The little bit of sea salt and the olive oil complement the tuna really well. I do think there could be more oil in the can, but the tuna was not dry at all. I enjoyed a can for lunch with a quinoa-rice blend. It was great. The price is much higher than that of competitors (no surprise there), but if you consider what it might cost to get a restaurant-quality portion of tuna, this product really does seem comparable, so in that regard, it's actually more affordable!

It makes for a quick easy meal since it doesn't need any dressing up. I liked it as a simple topping on toasts and salads. The portion is small compared to a standard can of tuna, but it's nicer quality and still a good size for a single serving. I've had a hard time finding any tuna made in olive oil, it's mostly just standard oil or water so I definitely appreciate this specific tuna! It's a bit on the pricey side, but the quality of this tuna and the amazing flavoring makes it so much worth the extra couple of dollars! I used these cans of tuna as a mid-afternoon snack on my lunch break, with some ritz crackers straight from the tin and it was perfect for that! I also used some of this tuna in a tuna salad mix for dinner for my family and everyone including my kids absolutely loved it! I'm very grateful that I was chosen to be one of the panelist to try this tuna brand in exchange for my honest review, because now this is most definitely going to be my go to brand! Believe me, you won't be disappointed that you spent the extra money. I've never had such great but light flavored tuna, with the perfect texture and saltiness!

My family and I love tuna and this taste really beat all other kinds we have eaten. The flavor was very clean and fresh. Just pure tuna flavor, not fishy and no preservative oily taste. The texture was spot on too. No gritty or sliminess to it, just a nice flake. We first ate it plain to get the taste, then my husband loved it so much he made a sandwich out of it. I would definitely pick up a can of this tuna at the store. The price and the quality matched up perfectly. This is saying a lot as my husband is very picky and does cheaper options a lot and he was crazy about this tuna too. Would recommend to a friend!!!

This is a great quality premium product. It's a bit pricy for me, because the cans are very small. I would definitely recommend this product.
