I've tried a lot of canned tuna over the years, and Rio Mare is by far one of the best. The flavor is rich, clean, and not overly "fishy" like some other brands. You can tell the difference right away — it's packed in olive oil, which adds to the taste and keeps the tuna moist and tender. The texture is firm but flaky, and it was so delicious when I added it to my salad. I can't wait to try it in other dishes. If you're looking for a canned tuna that tastes premium and doesn't need a ton of mayo or seasoning to make it edible, this is it. The quality is worth the price and I would be buying canned tuna solely from this brand from now on!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recieved Rio Mare Solid Light Wild Tuna in Olive Oil as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. Taste - This was the best tasting Tuna I have ever tried. Other tuna has an overly "fishy" taste, this tuna tasted very fresh, like real tuna and left me craving more. Texture - The texture of the fish was perfectly flaky and dry. When I use the word "dry", I am referring to the fish not being slimy in the oil, like other brands. It was in a perfect amount of oil, it complimented the flavor of the tuna, beautifully! Portion Size/Packaging/Value-The portion of this product was great for one person. I enjoyed this tuna on Pita Chips and I was completely satisfied after one can but could have easily eaten all three because it's that good! The packaging itself is adorable and worthy of being displayed. It added "fun" to my pantry. The price point is a bit higher than other brands of tuna, bit the quality and taste of this product is worth the splurge. Closing notes - I would highly recommend this Tuna, even to people that aren't big fans of tuna. This Tuna alone can create a "Tuna Fan". I do not think I will ever be able to have any other type, Rio Mare has created a life long customer!

I made tuna salad with one of them the tuna tasted fresh ,clean and simple. I love that it is packed in olive oil adding a nice richness. Tuna is such a versatile protein that can be prepared in many different ways. You can taste the quality in this brand. New family favorite!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Yes, they were the mini cans, but one small can was not enough to sustain the delectable taste. I toasted some sourdough bread, mixed 1 can with some mayo, sliced some cherry tomatoes and had the best open face tuna sammy snack. BUT it was so good, I ended up mixing the other two cans, elevating it up with some red onion, cranberries, pumpkin seeds and my snack turned to a yummy linner or dunch. Whatever, all I know is that this will be my go to tuna. Maybe it was the olive oil that added flavor to the tuna as I usually season up the tomatoes in olive oil with a dash of truffle salt. I clearly did not add additional OO on my tomatoes this time as I also usually buy tuna in water. Very Yummy!

I do not eat a lot of tuna, but I was open to trying this to see if it changed my opinion or if this could be added to the rotation as a good option for a quick lunch. I did like that this tuna is set in olive oil. That made for a rich taste that is more to my liking if a Mediterranean diet. I do not eat a lot of tuna for the mercury content, but sometimes will incorporate it once per month. I would add this if it were readily available in the grocery stores that I shop in, but I likely would not go out of my way to purchase this. Overall, this was a decent product.
