Toddler Approved Tuna

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have to say, this tuna was a hit in my house! I'm not much of a tuna fan myself, but tuna salad is far and away my toddler daughter's favorite food, and her dad loves it, too. I typically buy her another brand that only comes as tuna in water, but she is very active and I have wondered whether tuna in oil, being more calorie dense, might be a better option for her. But, like many toddlers, she can also be a picky eater and I wasn't sure whether she would be receptive to the change. So, when the Stellar Product Testing Panel reached out to see if I'd be interested in trying Rio Mare's Light Tuna in Olive Oil, I was truly so excited about the opportunity, and I'm thrilled to report that my sometimes-picky toddler did thoroughly enjoy it; she even ate almost the whole can on her own! My husband managed to sneak a few bites and was also impressed with the quality. He noted that it felt more delicate than what we usually buy, and the flavor was delightfully rich. Because we are serving tuna to a toddler, we are used to paying a premium for a higher quality product, and therefore the price per can of the Rio Mare is totally reasonable to us, and we would absolutely purchase more. That said, we both wished that there was some information about mercury content and/or testing practices on the packaging because, again, we are serving tuna to a toddler. It's not a dealbreaker, and I can admit that perhaps we're being nitpicky; we'd just appreciate some transparency in that regard. All in all, though - great tuna! Will keep an eye out for it in stores!

Best canned tuna

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Rio Mare is absolutely the best canned tuna I have been able to find in the United States - and I have tried most, if not all, of the tuna can brands available, including all the imported and higher-end names. Rio Mare is my favorite because of the taste and texture. The flavor is delicate but pronounced enough to elevate any dish, or even a snack. I enjoy it on crackers as well as in my pasta dish. Even the smell is mild and not fishy. The texture is soft, velvety to the palate, it melts in your mouth. Even my toddler loves it! The tuna is preserved in a high quality olive oil that tastes much better than the olive oil of other brands. I also appreciate the fact that the can contains just the right amount of olive oil, so you don't even have to drain it (no mess, no waste). I received a Rio Mare tuna can to try thanks to Stellar Panel, in exchange for an honest review, and I can't wait to buy this again at a local store. The price is a great value for the quality. The packaging provides you with the ocean and catch method, which in this case was the West Pacific and it tasted as good as the canned tuna I had on the Mediterranean. Overall, a delicious and healthy protein that will be a staple in my pantry.

Too much oil

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Tina tasted wonderful and fresh. It don't have that tin flavor that other brands have. Even though the packaging said there was very little oil the fat content on the package gave a different story.

Wild tuna

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was able to get the 3 pack tuna and seems to be the bang for your buck compared to other similar tuna products in my area. I love the classic packaging which stands out from the other brands as well. Iam definitely going to use these on the go for my lunch.

Tasty tuna!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This tuna was such high quality and so tasty! I love that it's in smaller cans, the portion size of that was much nicer for me. I loved how it was solid tuna pieces, made for a good snack. It was not oily or greasy or too fishy!

Yummy Tuna

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Rio Mare Wild Light Tuna in Olive Oil is definitely a win in the world of canned tuna. The flavor is mild and delicious. The texture is moist, not dry, tender, and not overly oily. The tuna is fantastic eaten alone! But it would also be delicious in salads, or casseroles. Overall, extremely pleased with this tuna. Thanks Stellar Product Testing Panel for allowing me to sample this yummy option.

High Quality Tuna with Great Flavor and Texture

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been pleasantly surprised by the quality of Rio Mare Solid Light Wild Tuna in Olive Oil. The texture is firm and consistent, with none of the mushiness that you sometimes find in canned tuna. The olive oil gives it a smooth, rich flavor that makes it delicious right out of the can, without the need for extra seasoning. Compared to other brands I have tried, this tuna has a noticeably cleaner taste with no overwhelming “fishy” smell, which tells me it is high quality. While it is a bit more premium in price, the flavor and texture make it worth it. I will definitely be keeping it stocked in my pantry. I received this canned tuna product from the Stellar Product Testing Panel.

I like it

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I eat tuna regularly because I think it's very healthy. So finding tuna and olive oil sounded very appealing and I think it taste OK. But I thought about it again. I really think water based to us probably healthier than olive oil or any oil. There is a huge price difference between the regular tuna I get and this olive based tuna therefore, I think I'll stick with my regular tuna that's in water

Rio Mare Solid Light Wild Tuna

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Thank you to Stellar Product Testing Panel for allowing me to try this tuna. I have tried many tuna brands throughout the years and this ranks with my top choices. I tend to gravitate towards the ones with olive oil and I especially appreciate the rich olive oil taste of this one. The texture is firm and flaky which makes it great for eating right out of the can. I actually had it just that way, straight out of the can with crackers. The price is a little steep but worth it for a more gourmet flavor and texture.

Premium Taste Worth the Price

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the Rio Mare Solid Light Wild Tuna in Olive Oil from the Stellar Product Testing Panel and was pleasantly surprised by its quality. I tried a bite straight from the can and found it fresh, mild, and not at all overpowering, with none of the fishy smell I sometimes encounter with other brands. The texture was firm and not watery or runny, so it held up well in a tuna sandwich I made with mayonnaise and light seasonings (garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper). Although it's priced higher than typical grocery-store tuna, the superior taste and texture make it worth the extra cost when you want a reliable option for guests or dishes like sandwiches and tuna pasta salad. I enjoyed every bite and would recommend it to anyone looking for a higher-quality canned tuna.
