[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First, even before opening I moved the pull tab on the top. It makes it so much easier for on the go when I don't have a can opener with me. Upon opening there is minimal oil so you don't have to drain it much, if at all. The smell is not strong and fishy, there are no dark spots or bones, and the taste is great! I'm very picky about tuna after some bad experiences, and I usually avoid buying it from major stores since I'm lucky enough to get it locally from the coast. That being said, this tuna compared very favorably with the local product. It was tasty straight out of the can, and the portion size was perfect for one—I prefer not to have leftovers, so that was a big plus. I tried the tuna three ways: plain, with mayonnaise, and with mayonnaise plus relish. All three were delicious, but my favorite was simply eating it right from the can—no draining needed. I've got one left, which I'm saving for a tuna melt, and I'm really looking forward to it. I also appreciate that it's wild-caught and sustainable—those are important factors for me, along with taste and portion size. The texture was meaty and high quality, without the fishy smell you sometimes get. It looked and tasted similar to the hook-and-line caught local tuna I usually buy. I received this product as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel, but I'll definitely be buying it again. The price is very reasonable for the quality. Since I'm often on the go, these portioned cans will also be a great addition to my hiking and camping kits. Highly recommended

The flavor was excellent and made for some truly excellent tuna fish sandwiches. That said, I'd love to see an option packed in water instead of oil. The oil gave it a nice taste, but it also added extra calories I didn't need. The cans themselves were noticeably smaller than standard, and with the higher price point, it felt a bit less of a value despite the quality.

The texture stood out right away. It was firm, yet perfectly flaky. This made it easy to eat straight from the can or add to a quick meal without needing much doctoring. The flavor is clean, rich, and well balanced with just the right amount of olive oil, so it tastes fresh not than heavy. I really appreciated how versatile it was. I tried it on its own, tossed it in to a salad and made a tuna salad. Unlike other tuna I've had, it didn't have that overly fishy taste, which I was nervous about! That being said, I will definitely be keeping this stocked in my pantry. Overall, I'd recommend Rio Mare tuna to anyone looking for a high quality, convenient, and delicious staple. It feels a step above your average canned tuna!

It had the best flavor, I paired it with crackers and the flavor was just right. I loved how delicious it was, I put it on a salad and it was great. The can was super easy to open and If you were to purchase it in stores it would be so easy to find! I would highly recommend!! Rio Mare tuna is packed in Olive oil for a better, lighter taste- you can enjoy it straight out of the can with such wholesome, simple ingredients. Definitely a different taste than those tune cans packed in water/salt water. If you are good with cooking with olive oil, then these are the light Wild tunas for you.
