The olive oil was the right combination to bring out the natural flavor without overshadowing it. I liked how simple it was, and paired it with crackers for a super yummy, protein filled snack. Rio Mar fit the bill perfectly. I received this as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel and was so eager to try it. To be honest it was my first time hearing of this brand. The can was easy to pop open and I noticed the lovely pink color of the tuna. I appreciated that it was packed in olive oil but not enough to drown the tuna, just enough to keep it moist. The texture was light and flaky and the taste was superb right out of the can. I usually end up mixing tuna with dressing or mayo but this was delicious as is. I loved the light texture and salty taste! I really appreciate the thoughtfulness that goes in to sourcing the tuna as that is important to me. Very simple ingredients and delicious taste. Let me tell you, this tuna was absolutely amazing. The texture was was soft and moist. It didn't smell fishy or weird like other tunas I've tried in the past. It was not dry at all! The oil in the tuna was light and just enough not over powering at all. I didn't have to drain much oil out either which I thought was nice. I've tried in the past have been either too wet or too dry and Rio Mare was perfection! The appearance was appealing; very pink and flaky. I decided to make a tuna salad and dip crackers in it and it was very delightful, fulfilling and refreshing. Definitely tasted very fresh. I found the tuna to be not salty so I added onion, cilantro, and a little bit of salt and pepper. Overall, I highly recommend this tuna and I will be purchasing !

The taste and texture of this tuna is delicious and rich. You can immediately tell the difference in quality between this and store-bought tuna that I've had in the past. I think the price is reasonable for the premium quality you are getting. I must admit, I didn't even manage to take photos after opening it because it was so good I just ate it directly from the can with a side of crackers! I also gave my 5-year-old daughter a bite to try and she loved it as well! I usually don't finish a whole can of tuna by myself, but this time I definitely did. What stood out the most to me was the olive oil and the fact that you don't need to drain it. It tastes so fresh!
