A super great tuna option

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the Rio Mare Solid Light Wild Tuna in Olive Oil (3 x 2.3oz) from the Stellar Product Testing Panel, and I was genuinely impressed with the overall experience. First off, the taste and texture really set this tuna apart from others I've tried. The fish has a clean, mild flavor, nothing overly “fishy,” and the texture is noticeably more tender and flaky than typical canned tuna. It feels closer to something you'd expect from a higher-end deli or fresh preparation rather than a pantry staple. The olive oil adds a subtle richness without being greasy, which elevates the overall flavor. I used the tuna to make a simple Mediterranean-style salad with arugula, cherry tomatoes, capers, and a squeeze of lemon. It turned out delicious, light, fresh, and satisfying. The tuna held together nicely in larger chunks, which made the dish feel more elevated and less like a typical tuna salad. In terms of value, for three small cans, it might be pricier than standard canned tuna. However, the quality justifies the cost in my opinion. This feels like a premium product that you'd use when you want something a bit more special or when the tuna is the star of the dish. What stood out most to me was the texture and overall quality. It's a noticeable upgrade from what I usually keep in my pantry. The combination of high-quality fish and well-balanced olive oil really makes a difference. Overall, I'd absolutely purchase this again for quick, elevated meals or when I want something convenient that still feels a bit gourmet.

Tasty snack

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Really tasty tuna. It was flaky and flavorful without being overly salty or oily. I ate it straight out of the can with a squeeze of lemon and some flake salt on ritz crackers. I liked the packaging a lot and the idea of the 3 separate cans in the pack. I think it is a great value for a healthy, filling snack. I could see myself using this in salads or mixing with mayo and other veggies. Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this canned tuna product.

Great flavor and not too fishy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product through the Stellar Product Testing Panel. I really liked this tuna. It wasn't too fishy or salty tasting. I made tuna salad with it and my family loved it, including my littles. It had a good texture that broke up nicely for tuna salad. I love that it's canned in olive oil, it adds richness to the flavor and texture. The tuna tastes like high quality tuna so I think it's a good value for the price. Overall, I'd absolutely buy it again.

Definitely an upgrade from your basic canned tuna

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with a free sample of Rio Mare Solid Light Wild Tuna in Olive Oil! I buy tuna on a regular basis, but I had never seen this brand in my local grocery store. I really enjoyed this sample, so I'm happy to report I researched and found Rio Mare is able to be purchased online. It's a bit pricier, but so worth the upgrade in my opinion. Because the tuna is packed in olive oil rather than water, the product is immediately more premium than the usual fare. It tastes less "fishy" and has a subtle Mediterranean flavor that really elevates my tuna recipes. I made a tuna pasta salad with this over the weekend for a church potluck and received so many compliments on it. The tuna stays firm and doesn't break apart, yet is still moist and tender. One of my favorite things is the protein content -- a truly healthy and filling option.

Tasty tinned tuna

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I typically eat fish a couple times a week, and for easy work lunches, I'll often have tinned tuna, sardines or salmon. I recently had the chance to try Rio Mare Light Wild Tuna through the Stellar Product Testing Panel and was happy to discover a brand I hadn't heard of before. First off, I loved that the tuna was served in olive oil - and in the right ratio. The fish wasn't drenched in oil, instead it was nicely balanced. (Which means I avoided a mess on the countertop too.) The tuna texture and color were really nice, and the smaller tin size made for a convenient single-serve portion for quick working lunches. I tried the tuna both on its own and on toast with mayo. This seems to be a higher quality tuna from what I can tell, especially for the price. The branding on the packaging stood out to me and that this is a European product. I enjoy trying tinned fish from speciality stores and find that European brands tend to be quality products. It's important to me that this is wild tuna, but I'd love to learn more than what's on the packaging about how this is a sustainable fish product.

Quality Tuna

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this canned tuna product. This tuna tastes better than most canned tuna I've tried. The texture is firm and flaky, not mushy, and it has a clean, mild flavor. The olive oil gives it a nice richness too. I used it to make both a tuna salad and a tuna melt. The tuna salad turned out really bright and flavorful, and the tuna melt was delicious. The texture held up well and didn't get soggy. What stood out most is how solid and intact the pieces are. It feels less processed and more like real, quality fish. The mild less “fishy”flavor was also a stand out for me.

Great for work

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Starting with the can, it looks super premium with a nice finished glossy texture on it. The lid has a nice pop top making it easy to open without the need for a can opener or worse dangerous tools. The texture was firm but flaky. In comparison to other brands, the tuna held together when I pierced it with a fork and didn't fall apart because it's been sitting in juice for a long time on the shelves. I really enjoyed the taste, it wasn't overly fishy and had a great texture. The olive oil complimented the fishy without making the texture feel too fatty. Overall a great product I am glad I was able to try and will be making the switch! Disclaimer: this item was received as part of a Stellar Product Testing Pangel

Solid tuna product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Rio Mare Tuna in Olive Oil is a good can of tuna. It's similar to other high-quality brands in taste and texture. It's hard to describe the taste specifically, but it's not "too fishy." The tuna is packed very densely in the can, but breaks apart well. I think this is a good middle-ground of quality vs. price, there are some high end tuna products that may be better, but will also cost you a lot more. I received this canned tuna product from the Stellar Product Testing Panel.

Great product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for sending me the Rio Mare tuna to try. I thought it was a good tasting tuna in a good amount of olive oil- neither too dry nor overwhelmed by oil. I made a tuna salad that was enjoyed by my 4 year old and spouse, everyone liked it! The texture (nicely flakey) held up well to being mixed with other ingredients, and leftovers stayed firm and not too pungent. When I find this brand in the store I will purchase again.
