It’s a higher end quality of tuna than you normally find at the grocery store and I will absolutely be back for more. I sampled a bit of it and ended up not using it in a recipe because it was so good. My kids (also not huge fans of tuna) ate the rest before I could get a second bite. Then they asked for more. The price is on the high end for me (generally I try for cheaper options) but the quality and the flavor speak for themselves. This is perfect on top of some cracker with tomatoes or on a veggie-filled sandwich (keep some of that olive oil from the can on the sandwich too!). The taste was cleaner and fresher than other canned tuna. It clearly was high quality, delicious tuna versus other canned tuna. It is a great quality that it is excellent on its own. But we also tried some with crackers and it was also great with some mayonnaise and pepper. The quality is worth the price. Other canned tuna may be cheaper, but they do not taste nor have the same stellar mouth-feel - it was not dry, and it was very delicious, so it is worth it for people who don't want to suffer through dry, lower quality, cheaper cans. Really, I was surprised by the flavor and texture. It felt like actually eating a quality tuna that wasn't mass produced in a factory. It felt like a much more pleasurable, non-can-like experience. The first thing you notice when opening the can is the aroma. It smells like quality tuna—not overly fishy, just clean and inviting. The flavor matches the aroma perfectly. It’s mild, smooth, and incredibly pleasant. Unlike some tunas that have a strong fishy taste, this one is balanced and flavorful, making it hard to stop eating. In fact, I had to resist the temptation to eat it straight out of the can. Instead, I mixed it with a little mayo and some chopped Italian green olives, making sure to include the olive oil from the can. The result was an easy spread that complemented the tuna perfectly and made a fantastic sandwich spread. My only complaint isn’t about the tuna itself—it’s the can. Opening it can leave some sharp edges. Thankfully, a side-cut safety can opener solves that issue. Bottom line: this tuna is seriously addictive.
