Customer reviews for Hamilton Beach FlexBrew Trio Coffee Maker forSlow to Brew
We have had this for 2 years now. My main complaint is that it is very slow to brew single servings. Unlike the Keurig brand this machine does not have a resevoir for preheated water ready to make the instant you start it. It may take 2 minutes to make a single cup; the same amount of time some brew an entire pot of coffee. I also dislike having to add water each time I make a cup; And having to pour it into the top means sliding it out from under the cabinet. The K-cup holder is not as smooth and sometimes does not pierce a hole in the pod, you can hear/feel when it doesn't work and you just need to retry before you start it. As far as reliability, it still works as well as it did 2 years ago. But I'm shopping for a new Keurig now to replace it.
Save Your Money
i purchased this unit 13 months ago and worked fine until a month ago when water started leaking from under the unit. I emailed the folks at Hamilton Beach about this issue but never received a response from their customer service. I waited over 3 weeks for a response. I am glad i kept my 5 year old Cuisinart coffee maker just in case.
HORRIBLE COFFEE POT
I was so excited when I got my new coffee pot, BUT 6 months later I wasn't so happy. I wake up to water all over the counter. So we google how to fix find a Utube video on how to fix. So it has happened a lot if there are videos on something. I'm just sayin! Fix it, it works a few more times and BAM water all over the counter again. I have had it with at a this point. As much as I loved having both in one. Hamilton beach has something to learn still. DEFINITELY DON"T RECOMMEND

Excellent!
I don’t own but have had the pleasure of using one and it’s an awesome brewer! Love the product and the variety this machine produces. Bold or regular are your choices and boy does it make a difference in pod(s) and by the pot! Finding what this appliance can do is half the fun. On a side note: 2 items that I didn’t like but can be remedied by company if they choose to do so. 1. Using a pod, you need to fill your cup with water every time. Be great to have a reservoir tank for either making a pot or using a pod. 2. If the carafe is being used and someone wants to have a stronger cup of coffee; when using the pod, the machine will shut off the warmer on the pot AND it shuts off after an hour if no.one is drinking from the pot. Frustrating because the coffee will be cold. Sure you can use the microwave but why have a coffee maker that doesn’t stay on all day? That’s why these machines are so versatile, they gives us choices. Hope this helps and enjoy!
Would not buy again
First, let me say, I really did like this coffee maker. But then let me say this. I will not buy another one. I have had two within a year, and they have both broken down. The first one started leaking water. Then the second one quit brewing the one cup feature.

Product Design Defect
Do not buy this. I purchased this and when I used the single K-cup option, there were coffee grounds all over my countertop. I even used different flavors and different brands of K-Cups. I thought that it was just that particular one, so I ordered a brand new one in the exact same model. And almost immediately it does the exact same thing. It leaves a mess all over my countertop. Obviously, this model has a design defect. I'm so disappointed.
So far so good
I purchased in store, so we had no issues related to packaging or cracked pieces as other reviewers have noted. It is slow brewing but that's the only issue I have had with it so far. It is annoying that the single brew side has to be filled for each use, but we don't use that side so much that it's a big problem for us.
bad warranty and service
This product is warrantied for 1 yr. From date of purchase in the U.S. but 5 years in Canada . Mine stopped working on the single serve side less than 2 weeks after the 1 yr . Warranty was up . Company refused to fix, or replace it . Oh but they offered me 15% off another one . Right . Canadiens are apparently more savvy on these companies . Americans only provide the bulk of sales to HB. I guess we’re not worth their effort .
Problem with K Cup Side of Unit
I have owned 2 of these HB coffee makers over the last 3 years. On both of them, the kcup side spits coffee grounds in spite of running vinegar thru unit every couple months. The other of unit works fine. If you want a dual coffee maker that lasts about a year and a half, this is the one for you.
Your feedback is very important to us. We regret to hear that you are not experiencing optimal results while using the single serve side of your Hamilton Beach 2-Way FlexBrew Coffee Maker. The water you use to brew your coffee is a big factor for the quality of the coffee you brew and also K-Cup performance. If you are using softened water from a water softening system or just live in an area where your tap water is naturally soft, this can cause K-Cup issues. Soft water causes poor coffee extraction which leads to poor tasting coffee. Soft water also causes the K-Cup filter to clog, extending the brew time, and increasing pressure in the K-Cup eventually leading to ruptured K-Cups and clogged needles in your brewing machine. So if you are using softened water, please try changing your water to bottled or spring drinking water. Consumer experience remains our top priority and if trying the noted step does not remedy your occurrence, please feel free to contact our customer service department.
It will leak
Bought one last summer, after 3 months woke up to water all over the counter. Hamilton Beach sent us a replacement, because of the warranty. Well that was good, until the same thing happened again. Contacted HB they said the warranty was only good for the first one. We liked the coffee maker, but they need to fix the clamp on the hose. Youtube has videos on how to fix it
